This Inline Fan was Super Easy to Install. It included Straps for the Carbon Filter and A Nice New Pre-Filter that fit it !!! The Inline fan does make noise but but not a lot. Vivosun also makes a Noise Reducer You can add to Your Setup as well. Then It would be Even Less Noise. But as is, it's quite manageable !!! Great for Beginners and Anyone Growing. Vivosun has GREAT Customer Service & Warranty department. I have this Setup to exhaust my Vivosun 2.5' × 2.5' Grow Tent and a Vivosun 4" inline for intake of Fresh Air w/Carbon filter to filter outside Air Coming into my Garden. I have the Included Carbon Filter as well on the exhaust. As well as another one @ the end where I vent outside... Can't Smell a thing.. I added a C02 bag & Vivosun Fabric Pots Now My Garden is Thriving !!! Also Not a smell one coming from my Tent except in the room holding the tent when I open/close the main doors. Other than that No One CAN tell !!! Just my experience though but it All Works Great Together !!! 5 STARS ALL DAY LONG CAN'T BEAT THE VALUE FOR THIS PRICE A BARGIN @ THIS $$$

The fan and filter showed up as scheduled yesterday and I hooked it up yesterday and started running some tests. I started by running it at 1/2 speed for a while. I have a 4'x4'x6.5' foot tent in a room that is roughly 10'x10' in the house. I have the duct inserted into the tent and the fan sucks the tent air out and then blows it thru the fan and into the filter which then exhausts the filtered air into the room. So I am in effect filtering the room and the tent at the same time. The tent is closed up completely except for one air intake flap down low to draw fresh air into the tent. I did that test for a couple of hours to see what happens with the smell. I have an 8 bulb T5 fixture and all 8 bulbs are on and I have 2 additional 25 watt LED strips that fill in the area on either side of the fixture. Then I tried a different test with the tent wide open in the room and the fan on the lowest speed it all but eliminated the smell for me. My wife said she could still smell a bit so I turned the fan up to 1/2 speed and she was very happy a couple of hours later when we got home and there was no smell. The room and fan are right next to our bedroom and there was no noise issue and she never mentioned a smell once. It ran overnight in the closed tent and when I opened the tent this morning there was hardly any smell and the heat in the tent with all 8 lights going was steady at 30C or 86F which is a bit warm but the night here was very warm and there is no A/C in the room. After checking the room temperature I found the tent was 2 degrees Celsius warmer than the room which I think is great as there was no breeze or fresh air last night.... just a hot and muggy night. This is great for anyone who is growing in a tent like mine or in a room. I know I am using it a bit different than most people as I put it outside the tent and not in the tent suspended from the ceiling. I do this because it is a better way to filter the tent, create good airflow thru the tent (cool air in at the bottom and warm out the top) and also blows the air thru the entire filter so it uses 100% of the filter and not just the 20 or 30% closest to the fan. It also leaves me all the room for lights and plants. Final Thoughts - Great value for the small grower and the only thing they could do better would be to add a strip of the silver duct tape to secure the fan to the filter with but the way I have it hooked up, I don't detect any air leaks. Two Thumbs Up and a Great Buy

It was easier then it looked to set up. Hung with bungees and the filter with the included straps and it is working very well in a 4x2x6 grow tent. Had to lower the fan to its lowest setting. Cord is fairly long which is good. I have a smaller tent so keep that in mind if you have a large tent. The 6 inch may be necessary for a 4x4 but for me it is more than sufficient for airflow. It is louder than the booster fan I was using before. I will comment in a month or so to report on how effective the filter is at containing the aromas. Hoping it works as my last grow was very pungent. This is the first day but it does work with good air flow. Lots of negative pressure with the walls of the tent sucking in. Temperature is 2 degrees lower with 2 cob LED lights from the booster fan setup last grow. It is also winter where I am at so also will be looking to see how it performs in summer heat.

Edit: I left the review below, but soon after I contacted Vivosun. They responded very promptly and are refunding it. The faulty one actually did last for the warranty period, failed one day after. The company does a great job responding to issues and trying to make things right. I will continue to buy their products. I bought this exactly a year and a day ago. I've used it off and on, but more in the last couple of months, running on the lowest setting. It has worked fine as far as moving air. It's fairly loud when operating normally. But, today it started making a really loud sound like a bearing had gone out or something. I could hear it from the basement to the upstairs. I wrote this same review on the individual fan item sold on Amazon, but posting it here, as this kit is what I actually ordered.
