One of the best Headlamps I have own.
I have owned several headlamps over years including Garrity, Black Diamond, and Petzl to name a few and so far Energizer Intrinsically Safe 3-LED Headlight appears to be the brightness and most durable headlamp I have owned. I use a headlamp daily to walk my dog in the early morning and take her out at night, so it gets used daily. I like the construction of the headlamp. First the hinge appears very durable. Some people may need to two hands to adjust the hinge angle because of the tightness and large size of the hinge but I see this as a plus. Other headlamp that I have own with easy to adjust hinges ended up breaking in cold weather, especially if the headlamp falls off your head. Plus how often do you really need to adjust the headlamp angle? I rarely do especially with the diffuser lens on this headlamp. The headlamp main light easily light up objects 200 to 300 feet in front of you, but because it a pencil beam in this mode you will not get much light at your feet. The diffuser lens solves this by creating bright wide light immediately in front of you. I find I use the diffuser lens most of the time because it lights up such a wide area in front of me, I can't see as far down the road or trail but I'm really only concerned about the 40 or 50 feet in front of me. If I need to see further out it easy to flip the diffuser lens down without removing the headlamp. The buttons to turn on or off the light I find easy to operate even with gloves on, plus they have a nice solid click when operating the switches. I hope this indicates a solid switch because this has been a failure point on some of my other headlamps. I also prefer AA verse AAA batteries. It been my experience headlamps that use AAA batteries quickly lose their brightness if used daily. With this headlamp I have yet to replace the original AA batteries and it almost been a month of daily use. The only thing I wish was on this headlamp is a rear warning or indicator LED on the battery box. The Garrity 1 watt headlamps I own have a rear red light which is great when you are walking on a road at night. I have been told in the past by motorist that they saw the moving red LED light long before they realized it was a person walking. Unfortunately both Garrity headlamp hinges broke during the first winter due cold temperatures and the small hinge size. Note: I also own the Energizer Hard Case Professional 4 LED Headlight which looks almost identical to this headlamp but in my opinion Energizer Intrinsically Safe 3-LED Headlight (it really has 4 LEDs) is better quality then the Energizer Hard Case Professional 4 LED Headlight. They both function the same and appear to be the same brightness. Ultimately time will tell how durable this headlamp is but I'm hopeful.Update 12-9-13, Still going strong. I continue to use this headlamp almost daily and have had no issues, it works great. Note: if the battery voltage drops too low the headlamp will automatically turn off to warn of exhausted batteries. It can be turned right back on. This can be baffling when using rechargeable batteries (NiMH & NiCd ) vs. non-chargeable alkaline batteries because the headlamp appears to turn off when there is still useable light (the light output is much lower then fresh batteries) coming from the headlamp. I believe this is because rechargeable battery voltage is 1.2 per battery whereas alkaline is 1.5 volts, but NiMH & NiCd batteries have greater amperage output. So for three batteries the total voltage is 3.6 volts for NiMH & NiCd batteries and 4.5 volts for alkaline. So if the low voltage threshold is 3 volts for the headlamp to auto turn off to warn of exhausted batteries the rechargeable batteries are much closer to the threshold then alkaline and will reach the threshold before alkaline batteries. So the result is the headlamp output will be much lower with alkaline batteries before the headlamp automatically turns off due to low voltage. Which mean the user will likely replace the alkaline batteries before the threshold is reached. Whereas with rechargeable batteries the headlamp will appear to warn of exhausted batteries a little too soon. I do not see this as a problem just something to be aware of. So if your concerned about the headlamp auto turning off to warn of exhausted batteries, like when your biking or up a 30 foot ladder, use refresh rechargeable or alkaline batteries. I still highly recommend this headlamp.

Bulky but durable.
A little bulky. But fits a standard hard hat. Bright enough to illuminate the belly of a tanker. Used around crude oil around 50 hours on 1 set of batteries

Great
great light, lumen ratings arent the end all be all, consider the beam distance this one has a great beam at distance.

My go-to headlamp
This is my go-to headlamp. My first one lasted for nearly five years and I kept surfing until I found a source to order a new one from the internet. Highly recommend if your need includes red lighting for night vision.

Okay if you don't mind the battery pack weight
Very bright but I find the battery pack to be a bit heavy when it sits on the back of my hard hat. I have found another brand that I can use that is just as night but weighs less.

The energizer intrinsically safe headlamps
The Flashlight work excellent, also one of the only ones that offered with batteries included however after receiving the product the batteries were not included that was only drawback.

Useful
Great and very useful in dangerous places

Cool
I use it for my job where there is unpredictable light. The only reason why I gave it three stars is because the light flickers every now and then. But the multi color light function is good too.

It's safe!
It's a great flashlight, but you are paying for the "safety" and not so much for things like brightness. In hind sight I probably would have bought something else because it's a bit expensive for what I want.

False advertising...
Headlamp is actually pretty good BUT definitely does not come with batteries even though the description says “Batteries Included”

Pretty good headlamp
It's a headlamp and it functions quite well. It's not as bright as other headlamps but I don't mind that because you don't need a blazing star on your head and the level of light it produces on low reduces glare if you work around a lot of metal with finished machine surfaces. You want the piece your inspecting to be lit but not too bright.
