I absolutely love tulips hooks. I’m slowly collecting every size as I cannot afford a full set . Wouldn’t use any other now they glide through the yarn and never catch . Love love love them .

I love these tulip etimo crochet hooks! I am an experienced crocheter, and much to the chagrin of my grandmother and mother who taught me to crochet years ago, I am a “knife grip“ crocheter. I have tried many times to use the “pencil“ grip, but it does not work for me. The handle on this hook is nonslip with a thumb indent, which makes a great place for my thumb to rest while giving me control over my gauge. I had my mother test the hook as she does use the pencil grip, and she found these very comfortable as well. We both have arthritic hands and I suffer from carpal tunnel. I can crochet for long periods of time with this hook without any wrist strain or increased numbness in my hands because I don’t have to grip the hook so hard. I have used this hook on several yarn types from acrylics, bamboo cotton blends, plush and wools, and it moves smoothly, does not snag the yarn or drag. This is a tapered hook and not a in-line hook. With the way I crochet, I find it very difficult to use in-line hooks, but I have a nice tight gauge so this does not affect my stitch size. Last, but not least, I do love the color and the fact that the shaft is also red. Some say that the red shaft cuts down on eye strain, but I have not noticed a difference between using theTulip Etimo red vs the Tulip Etimo Pink, which has a silver shaft. The only negative that I have encountered with this hook is that if you are doing a project where you have to keep several puff stitches on your hook at one time, this shaft is a bit short because of the handle placement. Just my opinion on it, hope it helps you make your decision!

Best crochet hook I have ever used. I’ve switched over completely to Etimo hooks. In particular I like the feel of the finish on the Etimo reds. I have to hold my hook with a pencil grip, otherwise I get pain in my forearm and wrist. This is by far the most comfortable hook for me.
