Really fun, and durable.
I was a bit skeptical about this toy when I looked at buying it because toys like these tend to break very quickly, but the cage design of this one is flexible, which makes it totally durable. It will take some getting use to, to learn how to hold and fly this ball, but we have tons of fun with it. A simple tap or shake starts the blades, and you simply aim it the direction you want it to go, then either let it go or give it a little push. It will definately take practice to get it to go where you want, but even after bouncing off the walls, table, ceiling, and floor this thing keeps going. The cage is actually difficult to get a finger in, however I do believe small fingers will be able to get into it, and the blades do spin fast so even though it would not cut off a finger I believe it would be possible to get a little knick or cut if your not careful. The battery seems to go for a while, over 7 min of constant use. The charging port and on/off switch could definately be improved, as it can be difficult to get to, but because it is all part of a rotating assembly, there aren't really any other options to place the charge port & power switch. The lights on this are also very cool to watch when spinning, the patterns are sweet. Overall this is a good value for the quality, I would definately recommend this style of ball over a solid cage that will break much easier. This is flexible, and takes impact very well. There are a bunch of these balls out now so there are a lot to choose from, but I can speak to the quality of this one being pretty solid. Even after learning how to aim this when flying it, there are still a ton of times it bounces off the walls, and it just keeps going. This ball also has a feature that turns it off after an impact, so it doesn't just keep running away from you after crashing. From time to time if the impact isn't solid enough, it will continue running but that hasn't happened too many times to us. If it does, you just gotta try and catch it to tap it off, or throw it again.

Everyone that see this wants to play!
I bought these to give to our tw0 teenage granddaughters. Of course, I had to take it out and look at it. I thought might as well check and see how to start this thing. I must admit, they are mesmerizing, with the lights flashing and the whirling sound. I then decided to hold it in my cupped hand. It stayed there momentarily, I must have moved my hand slightly and it flew off, hit a cabinet and fell down.We have a little black English bulldog, and he was on it in a split second. He grabbed it and held it in his mouth and then laid down with it so no one else could get it! Between the laughing and a couple of treats, I was able to recover the sphere. I got it turned off and easily got it back to shape. But Danny Boy would have done anything to play with it again. I have resolved to wait and give to my granddaughters when Danny Boy is Not around! They are great fun!

Cool and flashy, but hard to learn to control
Orb was a gift, but I charged it up so would work when recipient opened it. Charger slot is small. Slot and the on button are inside the framework and were sometimes in a spot unable to reach. You can gently blow on the blades to rotate to get access to slot and on button. On button is tiny, easiest way to turn on is with point of a pen. Cool flashing lights. Motor is a little noisy for such a small object. Once orb is on, start blades rotating by shaking it - multiple shakes required. Hard part is learning how to control flight. Haven't mastered that yet! Orb flies easily but erratically. Off is by again shaking - required MULTIPLE shakes to turn off. Or turns off when it hits the ground hard. Or just wait for the charge to run out. Charge runs out after about 7-8 minutes.

Worked great for less than a month
Bought it on sale during Prime day last July, saved it until birthday gift in December and in less than a month it stopped working. We charged it but it does not hold it anymore. It might be an issue why the mini usb plug since it does not seem to be pushing all the way down, it’s very flimsy although we have plugged the cable very carefully. L Do not recommend to buy it.
