The device fits seamlessly into my daily routine, but whenever colleagues ask about it, I give them this disclaimer: “I love it, but I’d never recommend it lightly.” The key here is that anyone interested in the reMarkable 2 must first do their homework. It’s essential to understand its specific use case and the design philosophy behind it. Unlike many gadgets that try to do everything fairly well, the reMarkable 2 is a specialized tool that excels at one thing—replicating the paper notebook experience digitally. For that, it’s nearly unparalleled. However, this specialization comes with trade-offs. The reMarkable 2 is highly focused and minimalist. It lacks many features that modern tablet users might take for granted: there’s no email access, no web browser, no third-party apps, and you won’t find social media or even a backlight for nighttime use. For some, this can feel like a “dumbed-down” tablet, especially given that at its price point, you could opt for an iPad or other E Ink tablets with more functionality. If you’re looking for a multi-purpose device, this might seem limiting and even frustrating. That said, the writing experience on the reMarkable 2 is where it shines. The textured E-Ink display combined with the Marker offers a tactile feel that closely mimics writing on paper. Ultimately, the reMarkable 2 is ideal for people who are looking for a distraction-free, premium notebook replacement that delivers on its promise of a paper-like experience. It’s elegant, well-built, and high quality, but it’s also designed for a very specific use case. If you’re someone who wants more functionality or expects a typical tablet experience, there are better alternatives in both the tablet and E-Ink markets. But if you value simplicity, focus, and a top-tier writing experience, the reMarkable 2 is the way to go. I personally use it daily and even bought one for my wife. But I also recognize that for some, it may not hit the mark. As I always say, do your research before committing to it.

A business associate has a remarkable 2 and I thought it would be great for my line of work, which requires a lot of note taking and interviewing. I really like has its a no nonsense kind of pad. No bells and whistles, just a pad to take notes, organize folders and files, reading and writing on documents and ebooks. The price is pretty steep but not have to carry around 4 or 5 notebooks and digging through them to find something is nice.

I have been using this notebook for about a year now, and what a game changer. I chose to with Remarkable as they are a trusted brand and stand by their product. Writing is very realistic, and the software is great as well. The ability to access notes from anywhere is a gamechanger, along with the ability to select and move sentences and notes around on the page. The notebook templates are also a nice touch. Highly recommend!

I love this tool. I can take notes and then assign them to a file easily. The points hold up well. I have so many people ask "what is that thing?!" It is very light weight. Super flexible. Connects to WiFi easily no matter where I've gone.

Works as described

I was so excited to try and make this work! Final update on January 23rd. Verified this was delivered to me on January 12th. Seller asked me to go to a different website, initiate a return with a video upload and a bunch of other work! I haven't had this product but 2 weeks and have gone through 2 tips and now I cannot even replace the tip and use this. I wouldn't mind hiving this more time, but it's concerning to see what the process looks like to get replacement parts after a mere 2 weeks! I can't go through this every time because it seems like I will have a problem each week with this unit, as that's how it's averaged. Owned the product 2 weeks. Have had 2 problems with this last one not being something I can fix! It's really disappointing! I loved this when it worked. I have attempted to use this at work since January 12th receiving it. I work Monday through Friday. There have been 2 days now that I haven't been able to use this at all. It's not paying off. I'm going back to my Rocketbook. I will be initiating a defective product return through Amazon as that's why I buy through Amazon. No hassle shopping. So easy! You have to understand in 2 weeks this is my 2nd issue. I don't want to be constantly logging onto a website each and every time I have an issue with this product on order to be believed and have their warranty honored. Rocketbook is lower cost, not as technical so there are less issues! I would not recommend this unless you want to be going back and forth every time you have an issue which could be each and every week! Update - on Jan 23rd I came into work and attempted to use my pen. Once again it would not write. This time, I cannot get the old tip out to write. I contacted the seller. I am ok with assuming I received a defective pen. I would love to give this product at least a 30 day use to see if it's worth it. So far, it's not worth it! Update- on Jan 18th after maybe a mere week of use, my marker tip has stopped writing . It's disappointing to spend so much on a product to have an issue so soon. However, there were plenty of Master tips included and easily changed to have the pen functioning. I am hoping my next tip last longer than 7 days. I had 1 tip in the pen plus 9 extra. I ordered this to help myself keep track of projects in my personal and professional life. I love how light weight and easy this is to carry around. I usually buy spiral notebooks and use those for record keeping. It's can sometimes be challenging to keep up with organizing my paper records. I've been trying to find something to reduce my carbon footprint for my antiquated note taking. I have an injury which hurts me when I type since I type rather fast. I am so far in love. It arrived just today and I've only had a few hours to pay around. I love how smooth it is to write. I haven't gotten to explore all it's features but I'm excited. And I hate buying new cars, phones, laptops, etc. It's very similar feel to electronic reading devices (think Kindle). If you are regularly attending meetings at work it for charity or other events, this would be an ideal investment!

Five stars? Four stars? I think after using the device for a bit what I'm realizing is that it can be a useful tool in my arsenal, but also I can't expect it to solve all my problems. Sometimes in meetings, typing notes on a laptop is frowned upon - I can use a notebook and transcribe later or find another path. The ReMarkable seems to work well as a middle ground. Writing notes by hand, and then converting later seems to work pretty well -- 95% -- whether I'm using ChatGPT or doing conversion via the device itself. I still need to verify the conversion either way but it's much faster than transcribing my notes. The weight of the device is excellent, so much lighter than my iPad Pro. There isn't a backlight, nor is there color, but I haven't found that I need either of those things. Writing is clear and the device is responsive and not laggy at all. The screen refresh is something you get used to and not detrimental to enjoyment of the device -- you slowly grow to understand what actions will result in a refresh, and expect it. Battery life is amazing, of course.

I love this! I was hesitant on the price. However, I take a lot of notes with my college courses. I can't begin to describe how handy it is to have all of my notes in one place. Instead of using multiple paper notebooks, I have this! The ability to organize and create something that you want - is incomparable to a paper notebook. The writing ability is off the charts. When you're writing on paper and you mess up, you scribble it out. With this you have the Erase option! You can create documents and write notes with whichever way fits you best. The screen size is great, it's not the size of a piece of paper but it doesn't matter in this case. It definitely has a little bit of weight to it too! I thought it would be lighter than it is, but the weight makes it easier to hold it while writing. The accuracy of the pen to the tablet is on point, I cannot find any complaints about this product. The only thing I can say is I am so glad I made this choice!!!
