Super strong, impervious to Solvents
My husband loves these laces, he has 3 sets of these Honey Badger laces on all 3 pairs of his RedWing boots. These laces put all other brands to shame. He works as an industrial maintenance tech, so these see dirt, oil, water, grease, plastic dust, industrial solvents (including MEK, which these laces seem almost impervious to.) It has been 1.5 years since his first set and they haven’t so much as frayed, they will not rip easily!!!! They take so much damage and so much dirt the laces will turn black, but was them and the color is back! Just be sure on the length that you order and that your boots have large enough eyelets. He has replaced all the RedWing brand laces, which are junk, with these. The Kevlar allows him to tie his boots much tighter than any traditionally made laces as they hold a knot until you untie them. Basically, they’re great enough for me to write a complete review! These are cheap for the second-to-none quality.

Does NOT fit through the metal eyelets of KEEN hiking boots!
The laces seem great, but they don't fit my Keen hiking boot eyelets. In fact, the plastic aglet broke inside my metal eyelet after going through 2 of them. I spent a half hour getting these through just two eyelets before the aglets broke in my hand. The problem was that the aglets were too cylindrical and fat. It would have worked had they been flatter. —great seeming laces in other respects; heavy duty. Sad that I just wasted ~13 bucks.

Really, really strong
My husband goes through shoelaces like crazy. He pulls by the tie portion to tighten his laces which makes them snap constantly. I bought these hoping they would last longer because of the Kevlar. I wasn't disappointed in that. The aglets were a bit bigger than the final holes in his sneakers. I had a hell of a time completing the lacing and ended up breaking the plastic aglet. In my determination, I took a pair of pliers to the end of the lace to finally pull it through the hole. While the red portion of these shoelaces did come apart I was able to pull the lace through the hole with the black part which I assume is the Kevlar. While this isn't a great story for using the laces on his shoes, it does represent how strong they are. The aglet was still in place, partially, when I was done and he's used them for months without the usual stretching that indicates they are about to break. If you have smaller holes in your sneakers, beware. but if you are using them for strength you really can't beat them.

Sturdy, comfortable laces that make my boring boots pop!
I ordered the 54" laces for my Vasque mid hiking boots. They are a tad longer than I needed, especially because I lace my boots differently to keep tongue pressure off my abnormally high instep, but they are fine double-knotted. I just love the look of red laces on otherwise boring brown hiking boots. I didn't realize I was ordering two pair - four laces altogether - so I keep the second pair in my hiking pack just in case of a broken lace mid-hike. However, they've held up really well to tight lacing and constant running on the metal hook part of my boots so I think they'll be alright for a while to come.

They stay tied
I ordered these laces because the ones that came with my hiking boots are about the same as you get on street shoes. Flat, thin, wimpy. My boots would start to feel loose after a few minutes hiking. The Honey Badger laces draw tight and stay tight after an hour or more walking. They are round and thick enough to tie easily and they stay tied. They also fit into the boot clasps even though they are fatter than the stock laces. Kevlar is indeed the Honey Badger of fabrics.

Exactly what I hoped it would be
I'm stoked to have found this company that makes quality laces. A have a cute pair of hiking boots that I wear pretty regularly in the fall and they just have normal brown laces and wanted a pair with more personality and reliability. If these boot laces were a dad, he would drink only black coffee. He'd get up early and take you into town on the weekend for pancakes and tell you that he's proud of you at the local diner. He'd sound like Sam Elliot and tell you to never lease a vehicle when you grow up and for damn sure nothing that's only 4 cylinders. You'd be happy about pancakes. The boot laces have real substance to them.

Colorful and Strong Classic Laces
These are beautiful laces made with craft and durability in mind. They look fantastic on my docs and are easy to tie and most importantly don’t slip or chafe. Moisture doesn’t seem to affect them like so many other laces I’ve had and I bet if I had to use these in a survival scenario they could easily save the day. I want to get more boots so that I can have more lace colors to coordinate with and they make a lot of cool colors!

Shell wore through after 16 months of heavy use
Keep in mind I’m writing this review as I order another replacement pair for my boots. I really like these laces. They do exactly what they say, look great, and I’ve never had them get untied. I work as a first responder for a construction site, so durability is always important in all my clothing. I usually double knot my laces anyway, so they don’t get untied if they get caught on rebar or any debris. My only complaint is that the exterior still started to wear out similar to other laces I’ve gotten. After a year and a half, the exterior shell separated where it slides through a metal loop in my boot. This spot was a common cut spot for all my other laces, so it’s nothing new for me. The inner cord showed no wear and I can probably keep using them for a while longer if needed. For that reason only I’m taking away a star. Still, most other laces are destroyed beyond use by now.
