Approved & Highly Endorsed Chase by a Gen X-menopausal mid life tired mom
Jump ahead for concise review of set up & functionality since. Keep reading for what I was looking for and my experience with the company.I am a middle aged Gen X professional woman with four teens, endless foster dogs and a garden. Outside is my therapy but mosquitos are not. I also like to imagine that I’ll be an outdoorsy survivalist type person because we all have goals and this is cheaper than other mid life crises. Over the Christmas holidays I slept outside in an enclosed sleeping cot which was ok, but not optimally comfortable due to its rigidity. Also the boxy rectangular tent enclosure kept me toasty warm but would collect too much internal condensation. I’ve been looking for a comfortable outdoor hammock that wouldn’t require trees or even grass. I am not superwoman and need a pretty lightweight and sturdy one. No one has patience for bugs, and lastly I wanted a sun/rain cover. This brand seemed to fit all those needs but the first time I ordered and happily used my birthday money, they cancelled it without me understanding what was happening or why. I’m a patient customer though and thought it was a tariff thing. Finally after multiple emails it became clear that the order was canceled because the COLOR I ordered was out of stock. Well dang, color wasn’t on my list of wishes. I switched to this pretty green instead and the order was processed smoothly after that. It actually then arrived 4 days faster than I expected, and on Mother's Day which was perfect. My 18 year old son helped me set it up in the back yard so here are our thoughts on the set up. We aren’t camping people and have barely set up any tents, ever. He was briefly in Cub Scouts but as of yet, hasn’t had a need to carve an animal out of soap with a dull pocket knife. Luckily like every Gen Z, he knows how to look up other reviews and videos for set up assistance.Just going by the diagrams and booklet, it’s fairly simple if you’re moderately familiar with camping equipment. We struggled but because we are beginners and the instructions aren’t step by step with pictures and word for word, with arrows and such. In his words, it wasn’t like using a booklet and putting together a complicated LEGO set.So if you’re beginner level, give yourself a little time and patience. Watch videos online or here. Once you understand how all the pieces and parts work, it’s incredibly simple to put together, tear down and move, and re-assemble.Fun fact: I laid in this hammock ALL NIGHT on Mother’s Day night. Also suspended weightlessly in midair, surrounded by my green growing plants who do not have human teen needs, allergies or attitudes. It was in the lower 50’s, it did sprinkle for awhile, but I was so warm and dry and blissfully happy. Woke up at 5:30 in time to shower and go to work.I’ve moved this around easily several times. It is now set up for what I think will be my summer home in my back patio by my green growing plants. I do have the sun/rain cover set up like a pup tent on one side for sun protection and the occasional wonderful rain storm but it’s o my using the metal stakes and none of the happy canopy poles. The mosquito net poles are nicely in place, I set up brick steps so my small dog can join me sometimes, and I may not move much all summer. So this is exactly what I was looking for and fits everything I can imagine j would need it for, either here in my garden, in the living room when the third teen steals it, or if I ever actually brave the wilderness. As far as I have been to find after weeks of research, this is the only set-up on the market right now with all of these positive features, and not too expensive either. I would recent to anyone and already have. This will be my sanity saver.

more of a sling - don't waste your money
I’ve never before left a snarky review, but here goes. Not really intended to be snark, just honesty. This is basically a POS. Well named Samsara, it is an illusion filled with suffering. One star, ‘cause it’s not possible to give a lower rating.Advertised as a hammock, it’s more of a sling. Unless you’re a hobbit (\< 5’), your head & heels rest on pads on the end crossbars, your body supported on a fabric sling. The end crossbars are well-padded & not entirely uncomfortable, apparently intended to be used in this way, but this cannot reasonably be described as a hammock. I’m 5’6”, 130lbs, and cannot imagine anyone larger being able to use this, tho it’s advertised to fit folks up to 6'4". It can be used sideways as a sling chair, but there are excellent folding sling chairs that weigh much less and serve better at decent prices.I assembled it and took a brief rather uncomfortable nap on it on my porch before packaging it up for return. The underquilt attaches easily, fits & works well, was warm in 50 degree weather. I did not try the included overquilt, the bug net or rain tarp. This is definitely not a carry-it-in item (especially for the 5’ tall person it might fit); perhaps a few dozen yards for car camping, esp. when you consider your other essential gear. It does come with well-made shoulder bags that are far more sturdy than the item itself, creating the illusion that this might be a carry-in item. If for the yard or for a pull-in camping spot without suitable trees for hanging, you’d be far better off with a (heavier) hammock frame & a real hammock, which could be purchased for less than this costs.Setup is easy, tho two of the spring-loaded locking buttons on the end cross-bars were stuck internally in the tubing. Some maneuvering might remedy this, but it went together despite these not locking in place (tho likely lacking sturdiness as a result). The concept is clever, but the compromise between weight & serviceability results in a concept that just never gets off the ground.Returned.

Arrived Quick - but USED.
Prior to ordering this product, I did see a bunch of reviews that mentioned that they received a USED product. I decided to take my chances and was hoping to receive a brand new hammock. However, upon opening the product, I noticed that there was already dirty on the legs of the hammock as if someone tried to clean the product prior to packing. It was obviously already a used item, I decided to continue unpacking..Sure enough, as I spread the hammock - I found more than 5 little holes on one end in the hammock(in photo I took.) I was a little upset as these little holes can quickly become an issue as we plan on using this hammock almost everyday. There was also a missing piece for the sunshade(one of the screws were missing so we can’t use the sunshade.)Other than that - this seems like a pretty good product, we will still use it but will have to monitor the little holes and be extra careful not to have anything rip them even more. Easy setup and very comfortable!
