Just what the doctor SHOULD have ordered...
I had rotator cuff surgery in November, 2024, fell in December, 2024, had shoulder replacement surgery in February, 2025. After the first surgery, we bought a small, home-use ice water therapy machine. It worked really well, but was a pain to set up, especially one-handed.This compression sleeve worked so much better than the ice water machine that I used it solely throughout my recovery. The sleeve is easy to adjust and comfortable. The ice pack lasts much longer than standard gel packs and the compression feature provided great relief.

great ice pack
I purchased this when I scheduled rotator cuff surgery. I thought I would use it immediately after surgery but ended up using the ice pack alone for as long as my arm was in a sling. That worked great - the ice pack is formed and sized to fit around a shoulder and it stays in place as long as I'm sitting still. Later on - when I was no longer in a sling and had better mobility with my arm - I used the entire system to hold the ice pack on. The pump system works well to press the ice against the shoulder. It's probably more elaborate than necessary and I find that it really isn't necessary to flip the switch between on/off. The air stays in until you hold the release and press it out.

ok
works fine - wish it were smaller for a small framed woman.

Easy to set up and Works Great
I wound up immobilized with extreme, white-flash-light pain due to the front muscle tying in the shoulder to the bone at the Subscapularis to attachment point. I tried two arm slings - a CVS and Son Joy IV to which, made it worse for my application by holding the arm outwards away from the body. The NatraCure Compression Shoulder kept the shoulder squeezed into place. After the 3rd day, I could use the arm in the device without flash-white light shooting pain - with very limited movement but, computer work was a breeze - no pain when wearing the device. The removable pump was also very easy to remove and install even when worn. I had zero issues with this and was quite impressed with how well it helped me towards healing. I've got a ways to go and PT to follow but, this compression sleeve was (out of 3 types) the only one that worked for me.I slept with it on to prevent re-injury of the shoulder during sleep which kept occurring when not wearing it. I know it is not recommended per literature but, for me, it worked to help get sound sleep without waking up wee am.Whomever designed this product did a very good job for the cost point and - Form, Fit & Function A+ for being effective. While I cannot speak to anyone else's application, this thing is worth gold for me. Took me more than a few tries at fitting the gel pack inside just right to facilitate seating snug in the shoulder area while using incremental adjustments at both, the red and blue straps but, once it was dialed in, it was set it and forget it.

Would send it back but that ice pack is amazing!
This is a review and how to for real people in real pain. This item is unnecessarily cumbersome. The instructions for use will cause most injured people more pain just putting it on. The picture and actual fit on a normal or smaller person are vastly different. Now- that ice pack. It’s worth the price of the item. However, I’m still trying to find just an ice pack shaped like this. It is perfectly shaped to cover the shoulder (all sides) and the muscles leading to the neck. It gets very cold but is pliable. Due to the fit inside of the item and the compression, the ice pack stays in place giving a great numbing to painful areas. Use a face cloth or towel between your skin and the ice pack. Hints for use if you hurt yourself using the company’s instructions:1. Do not fasten the red and blue tabs to the item. This allows you to place the item over your painful shoulder without tugging or hurting your shoulder. The other strap that goes around your body holds it in place. (Wide chest or large breasts- the fit of the strap won’t look like the picture)2. Once the item is comfortable then either have someone hold it in place or lean back on a chair once you have the strap that comes around your body in hand. Tighten so that the item doesn’t move.3. It is best to be aware of good posture or you shoulder will roll forward.4. Once the item with ice pack are in place, hold the front gently in place if adjusting your position or sitting back on a chair. Using compression can move the item out of place if you don’t.5. Removal: the ice pack is so cold that it melts. This can cause a bit of condensation. Wipe the pack and the item with a dry cloth after use.Or just send it back and keep looking!

Wow!!! 5 stars!!
I love this thing. Is it bulky? Yes. Is it a heavy? Meh, you’re aware of it. Does it work? Oh, HECK YES!!! I’m in an MRI/surgery wait list and I hurt. A lot. My shoulder is killing me. I looked at reviews, picked this one and am so glad I did. It rocks! Want it cold? 20 min in freezer and it’s cold. Hot? I find heating it in 20 sec intervals helps me the right temp, don’t forget to have something between your skin and the brace. Now that you’re comfy and warm/cold, now you can pump up the compression and enjoy pain relief I didn’t think I’d achieve until, what, 6 weeks post surgery. The compression on this is heavenly. Love it. Got on here just so I could review it. Buy it. Have someone help you fit it. Then, enjoy.
