A nice small footprint dehumidifier
Short review:After reading some negative reviews, I was concerned about ordering this unit. I’ve been pretty happy with this device, and would buy again if need arises to help moderate humidity in another area.A bit more:Before purchasing this item, realize it’s a thermo-electric (or Peltier) dehumidifier. And when they say petite dehumidifier, this thing is petite (roughly 6x9x6 inches). Don’t expect it to dry your space much below 50% humidity (ambient temperature is a factor too). Don’t expect it to get a room to that equilibrium in a couple of hours (depending on humidity and size of space). The unit is only rated for 1100 cubic feet, so that’s basically a 10’x11’x10' area.If you need to dry out an area fast, or need to pull moisture out of a larger area, look to a more industrial unit.If you need to pull a considerable amount of moisture out of the air, look at a more conventional, and larger, dehumidifier. Quoted by the manufacture "It’s effectiveness is measured in gathering approximately 8 oz. of water per day at 86° F and 80% R.H"If you just want to moderate some moisture out of the air of a small space (bathroom, RV, small room in an apartment, small storage area, etc.), then this may be a good fit. To risk repeating myself, I’ve been very happy with the price / performance of this unit. It’s been running for just over 4 days, and filled up the reservoir once already (note that's only 16oz). Given the RH has been around 65% and nowhere near 86 degrees, it tracks fairly well with manufacturers claims/statement. I wouldn’t call it whisper quiet, but their rating of ~51db is pretty accurate. It has the light hum of a good working order fan on a low speed. The “light damp smell” in the area is gone, and the space feels comfortable to me. It's a cheap and energy efficient short term solution, until I plan a better long term option for the space.

Good little machine, requires reasonable expectations
These are good little machines. I use them in my closets and the bathroom. Understand they do not make a room bone-dry and I see people complaining that they have wet walls and glass and "it's not working" but you have to understand that if the moisture is not already in the air this little puppy is not going to get it off dripping wet surfaces like glass, shower curtains and cold tile. Cold air will not hold moisture. It's important to keep cold surfaces warm -- such as glass and tile and to encourage the air to circulate. This little machine is not going to suck streaming water off ice cold tile across the room. Warm up your bathroom surfaces before showering and use a little fan to help move the air around and this little guy will keep the moisture below 50% over time. Also empty it very frequently. It works better and why let standing water sit around in the machine when it's very easy to empty.

Very good, could be better, but overall a respectable product worth buying.
Surprisingly quiet, but they could have made it a lot quieter. It is on par with most PCs and Laptops, but nothing like Fractal or Noctua computer fan quiet. It uses 0 watts when it isn't on, and at most 25 watts when it is running (steadily fluxuates between 24-25 watts)So it will consume as much power as 3 average LED light bulbs, or <1/2 as much power as a 60 watt incandescent bulb.I question its ability to work in an 1,000 square foot area, but it did a reasonably nice job in a 150 square foot basement bedroom running 24 hours a day. It needed to be emptied once every 3 days. It won't work as effectively as a large 50 pint dehumidifier in the same space, but it won't be as loud, and it won't heat up the room. A large dehumidifier in a 150 sq/ft bedroom will heat the room up by about 10*F without an open window and the door closed. With this smaller dehumidifier, that isn't the case, and it is enough to combat a recurring source of moisture in the atmosphere. In my case, it was a occupant who always had towels drying in his room, that made the room feel like a shower, and the mini fridge was also leaking without me knowing. So I fixed the fridge and got a drip pan for it, and used the dehumidifier to combat anything evaporating into the atmosphere. All in all it worked nicely, and I'd be happy to one of these for any room under 200 sq/ft. It might work for "up to" 1,000 sq/ft in a sealed environment without foot traffic or recurring problems. But not for a space frequently accessed. If I stored a car in a shed in florida and didn't drive it for the entire warm season, I'd be happy to let this thing chug along and keep the car and shed fresh. The biggest con with it is that it doesn't have an option to connect a hose, which is ok. It isn't difficult to modify one into it. And they could have done a better job with the quality of the fan.
