Garmin makes durable products. This is easily readable in sunlight. Very accurate when tracking mileage. Their app is easy to use and has everything we need.

I've owned 6 other wearables, including a Galaxy Watch 4, a FitBit, and an Oura ring, and each one had at least one fatal flaw. The problem was usually a very inaccurate heart rate monitor. I didn't expect much from this FR 45, but I've been very pleasantly surprised. The heart rate monitor is very accurate, and it's 97% accurate measuring distances for runs and bike rides. It's not a smart watch and it doesn't have a touch screen, but it has a few smart features (it notifies you of texts and phone calls, and can show the weather and calendar events.) It doesn't try to duplicate the functions of your phone, and it delivers on all its promises.Pros: designed for activity tracking, and it does that better than any other wearable I tried; reasonable price; the buttons let you access functions without looking at the watch, for example, through a shirt sleeve; loud audio notifications for timers, etc.; excellent battery lifeCons: each of the 5 buttons has a different function for a quick press and a long press, and it takes a while to memorize how to navigate between functions. The interface isn't as intuitive as a smart watch, and it often takes several button presses to access the screen you want. But once you learn the features, it's easy.

It had the feature of pace tracking that can help you keep your pace if you listen to it. Good customize feature to get the watch just the way you like it.But when they ran there two miles it keeps saying 1.8 miles but the pace keeper did track a two mile pace? Oh well we can work around it. And it was a bit expensive for a refurbished.

Got this watch to help me track my fitness goals. Love the fact it syncs to MyFitnessPal and other such apps. I’ve been doing much better with my fitness since purchasing this watch to help me track. It should be noted this is not a touch screen product. I knew that going into it, but I know I’m more careful than most when reading product descriptions.

I LOVE this activity tracker. I am not a runner, but I walk for exercise and like to walk at brisk pace and wanted to up my game. I had two generations of Garmin Vivofits before this and they did not have GPS. I bought an Garmin FR 35 right before this 45 and it seems too big and clunky. I like the size of this smaller version. It tracks my sleep and gives me some estimate of a VO2 max which had inspired me. I have been trying to keep a 15mph pace when walking and this has allowed me to do that and see that often I walk faster. I also like the super comfy band which has some given to it and is purple/periwinkle.
