I have owned the previous version of the Lacis Fringe Twister for a decade. It was an exceptional product. I weave and have twisted the fringe on over 100 scarves, shawls and table runners with it for over 10 years. It finally wore out and I got this new model as its replacement. it is nothing like the first one. It is weak and does not do a good job at all. I am half way through twisting my first scarf fringe with it and I don't even feel confident that it will finish the job. Not sure why I company that made sure a good initial product would have their new model be so poorly made. It is just terrible. Don't waste your money.

I bought this as an experiment to see how well it would furl a leader. Its a great solution to the weird set up you usually have to use. The dual action of the tool spins multiple, double strands together then will reverse spin all strands together. If you furl your own lines this tool makes it easy and frankly "fun"

Worked great until in broke. The pegs started popping off first and then the whole head started popping off. I was able to put them back in place a couple of times but that only worked for so long. Maybe was able to finish 3 projects total. Really wish they could produce a better product because it truly is so helpful

It's really fun to make cords for belts, jewelry, edgings for textile projects, split-plying or hair braids with this twister. I've made 4-ply cords up to 1/2" thick and 12 feet long from embroidery floss for a neck / shoulder strap on a small, heavy ceramic purse.It's the only portable twister I've seen capable of up to 4 plies that will work without folding the cord in half, needing an assistant or fighting the not-big-enough handles. It's super easy to set up with the four retractable clips and the twisting goes fast.My only complaint is probably not actually a fault of this twister. I've had two of these units fail on me because I forgot to take the batteries out of the handle between uses. I don't know why this unit seems so much more prone to corrode while my other battery-powered items that I use just as sporadically in the same environment don't go bad nearly as fast. Not willing to drop another 20-plus dollars on a third one, I'm now experimenting with another drill-powered unit that costs about the same as the Lacis but is capable of even thicker and longer cords like the really expensive professional twisters. But it's more frustrating to set up and not nearly as portable so I may end up buying another one of these anyway.

Saves a ton of time in the process of make fringes

I have tried changing batteries numerous times and this product still doesn’t work correctly. I wish I had used it before the return window closed, because it is useless to me.

I finally put this new tool to use last night (Apr-23-2024) and it worked beautifully to turn the stringy ends of my hand woven trim into neat twisted fringe.
