Threads are well polished, not gritty.The squared off body measures 0.558" wide, 0.563" high and 0.679" deep.The taper seems on the high side of the NPT tolerance which mean that you might have to chase the threads if mated with a fitting that's also tapered a bit on the high side.All-in-all a very acceptable fitting at a good price.

Not correct thread! So I tested these out with multiple different 1/4" nptsz that i had laying around to make sure they worked and it felt a bit tight so i counted rotations and sure enough it gets quite tight getting to 3 full threads as the rest of my nptsz get to 4 smoothly. So i came back and started reading reviews and someone e else said they were too tight as well. I'm guessing most people don't realize they are not getting that much thread but didnt realise it.

They are strong; adequate wall thicknesses. Threads are within spec. Price is fair; but it seems all brass fittings are very expensive. In 2010 I was purchasing these fittings for $1.50 each.

I bought these for putting a one shot oiler on a Bridgeport milling machine. The threads were very easy to start into the castings and sealed well, the other end worked very well with the Bijur FSA meters.
