Perfect puppy jet setter travel carrier
I will travel with my 12 week old puppy on national and international airlines. After spending innumerable hours checking carriers and comparing them from design to space, to least airline nuisance about sizing to color, I confidently finalize this purchase. I got it in small for now and in green. My pup is a all black toy poodle and will not be larger than 10lbs max. For now I will use the small and I loved it so much that I already ordered the large one. If it ends up to be too big for in-cabin, you can remove the top roses it seems to bend the sides down. Pretty cool. If it doesn’t work for dog size wise, I will keep it in my car. It has one extension. There are the ones with 2 extensions. I don’t think that much room os required for my purposes. I have never been so enthusiastic about any product in a long time. Thanks Amazon for distributing this bag.

Great carrier
This carrier was great for my first airline traveling adventure (ha!) with my kitty, Finn. It fit perfectly under the seat of an American Airlines plane and on the way back it fit perfectly under the seat on a Frontier Airlines plane. I feel it’s a very well made product, with a lot of attention/consideration to details. The only suggestion I might make for the manufacturer would be to 1) make one additional pocket (maybe behind the piece of material that I presume is for use with a seatbelt). Having one extra pocket would have been handy, but not necessary, and certainly not a reason to give this product fewer stars. As a heads up for future customers, be aware that one side of the small ends of the carrier has a double zipper, which is a nice feature. However, I’d advise you to MAKE SURE the two zippers are touching one another anytime you go to pick the bag up. In fact, in the future I may find a way to secure them together- small padlock, zip tie, etc, while in transit. I realized that if the two zips weren’t touching, it was just enough space for my girl to start to weasel her paw in the space and begin to work the zipper open. I caught her early in the act so she didn’t get out, but after that I had to make sure they were really snug.•Handles/straps are comfortable, and adjustable, and the long strap is removable.•floor of carrier is thoughtfully padded. It’s a solid piece of plastic, covered with a faux sheepskin case that is removable for laundering.•the breathable mesh parts were strong, and can withstand being picked at by claws. I had been worried about that but it really held up, no problem.•there is a collapsible false wall between the extending side, and the interior of the carrier. This is convenient so you can choose when your animal has access to the extension “deck” or “patio” (my words, not theirs, haha)•the extension side is A LIFESAVER!!! Holy moly I can’t tell you how glad I am that I got a carrier with the ability to provide her a little extra space. It really helps make her feel a lot less frantic, and like she has choices (cats like choices) about where to be. Very helpful, very well designed, and has a zipper in the middle of it so it can also be used as an entry/exit or for access of any kind.•I did have to throw it in the washer after a trip to the vet (stress pee happened), and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the fact that the structural bars that help give the carrier its shape come out so you can throw the whole carrier in the wash if needed. In fact they don’t just “come out”, they have little dedicated sleeves made for them with Velcro at the ends so you can be assured it wasn’t an accident that the beams come out.. they designed it that way on purpose.I’d definitely recommend this carrier for anyone with a cat or small dog. Finn absolutely hates her hard plastic carrier, but will literally walk into this one on her own accord, if it’s out and sitting on the floor. Incredible. Now, it may have something to do with the gabapentin the vet prescribed her or the way I got her used to it by making a treat trail leading into the carrier to get her used to it... but at this point even without the meds, she’s MUCH happier in this carrier than in the other one.Great product. Thank you!

Medium Fits (barely) Under Seat on a Plane
I ordered this after much research to carry my cat on several flights to move from Canada to the US. What I have learned it that the under seat area varies greatly. Airlines will fail to accurately describe the under seat space so be prepared to change seats. The 18" occupies the maximum width you will likely find on a plane. If you have a small pet (like a rabbit) maybe consider something smaller.First, the position of the life-jacket often will impact the height, this doesn't matter so much if you remove the carbon rods from the top of this carrier. Your pet will be a little smooshed, but they will fit. Having the side part to open during the flight is pretty good for to give them more space once airborne.Secondly, many planes have this metal box underneath one of the seats. This will prevent this carrier from fitting at all.Thirdly, this carrier fit only in one position on each flight I took. On one plane it was the window seat, on another it was the isle seat. Both middles had the aforementioned metal box and thus middle was out.In general though, it is a really great carrier. We made it through all three of our flights with no issues. The expandable section is fantastic. The animal can look around a lot more easily than in a hard case, which seems to help. On the flight itself, my cat tended to be quieter with it closed. But it was possible to open it out onto my feet or if squishing my feet to the sides to give her a little more space. In the airport, it gave her ample space to spread out and lie down. The leash hook is great as well. My cat did manage to get it wrapped around herself a few times but it meant I could reach into the bag and adjust this without fear of escape. I could also pass her food and water and even pet her a little bit. You also have to take the animal out for security, and this allowed me to easily switch the harness from the carrier to the leash in order to do this. The material is pretty nice, the stitching is solid. The mesh makes it a bit hard to see the pet when they aren't moving but they can see out fairly well.Removable rods in the top allow for a small amount of extra give, but not much. The rest is still quite rigid especially with the door closed. Carrying her with the shoulder strap with the rods out felt like it was sagging a lot. Side straps with no rods were better. There are a LOT of zippers. The ones on the mesh screens (top, front, back) are lockable (in case your pet is an escape artist), but this isn't necessarily useful as the front/back each have another zipper around the frame (opening these will cause the carrier to flop if the removable rods are not in). The zipper on the fold-out part is useful during carrier training to make them feel less trapped. Altogether, 6 zippers which could be opened to get the pet in/out.My cat hates her large hard case carrier, so I spent a few weeks on carrier training with her. Fed her in the case every day with the front and side mesh open. Had her wear the harness around the house during her active times as well so it wouldn't be weird for her being harnessed and stuck in the carrier. Now she will quite happily go in this carrier any time, and taking her to the vet is much easier. Conclusions:I gave this 5 stars despite some stress with actually getting a seat on each flight which it could fit under. I highly doubt after all my research that there is much out there which would be better, if you have a 10-11lb cat like mine. In our travels, this gave my cat the most comfort and she still uses it as a bed around the house. I think it's much more familiar and comfortable due to it's similarity to a cat bed, the faux fur on the bottom probably helps. It has great features for travel, like the inner leash, removable top rods and the fold-out section. Super pleased with the purchase and highly recommend.
