yes definately strong enough .i glued concrete cap tk brick gatepost .really strong glue

Q: How do you open this. Do I need to get a gun to load it into as looks like a plunger needed

Hi there, yes you do need a gun. The plunger goes in the bottom of the tube. You have to cut the end off the nozzle end with a sharp knife (45 degree angle is good). The gun will have a release lever to take the pressure off when you have finished using it. Seal the nozzle with a nail or cling film until you need it next. Excellent adhesive.

Q: Will it stick metal to plastic

Depends on size of the plastic and the metal. You're sticking together. If you're repairing like a child's toy, something of that nature I'd use gorilla glue, but if it's something you're trying to stick to a wall to say, hold something. Heavier I'm not sure to be honest
