Garbage
Broken twice now in 2 years, no better than something at 10% the price, think carefully before investing in Miele, not the brand it used to be

Great Washer/Dryer Combo
This is the second washer dryer I have owned (previous model was Hoover 5+ years ago.) I’ve replaced (somewhat begrudgingly) an AEG washing machine and separate tumble dryer in a bid to create more space in my kitchen/diner. I was nervous about another washer dryer for two reasons: the previous model I had BAKED the laundry during the drying cycle and the fact you can’t simply open the door during drying. After much research, I decided that opting for the best brand on the market would be the best bet. I haven’t been disappointed. The overall feel and build quality is what you’d expect; this machine is solid and VERY heavy! The transit bolts were a little fiddly to remove but we got there in the end. So far I have tested washing only and continuous cycles with great results. As long as you don’t over-fill the drum (giving the laundry plenty of room to agitate around the drum) ensures great results. The only negative is the functionality (or lack thereof) of “Mobile Start” via the Miele app (iOS.) I’ve connected the device to my home network and I’m able to see what what program is currently running however I cannot use the pause function and not can I customise my programs. This is a relatively minor snag however it does mean I can’t tell the machine what CapDos capsules I’m using (this lets the machine now when to introduce to the wash load during the cycle.) I’m hoping this is a temporary glitch (I’ve emailed Miele and hope a quick app update will help.) The 2 year warranty is a little disappointing for such an expensive machine, considering it’s been designed and built for 20 years use. If you need a washer dryer then this is one I would definitely recommended.UPDATED 15/07/21 I received a call from Chris at Miele yesterday REF remote control activation issues, he was brilliant. Chris talked me through the process, explained some of the ambiguity in the manual (due to the direct translation from German to English) and gave me his number to call back personally if I had any further problems. Exceptional service. Needless to say, the remote control function is now enabled and I am able to use the Miele app (for me, this is so I can use the CapDos system.) This is what you pay for when you purchase such an expensive piece of kitchen equipment; rating changed from 4* to 5*. Bravo Chris!

Overrated
Bought this machine from Currys. I insisted on getting a Miele because of its glowing reputation of making robust appliances, plus I did not want to deal with the hassle of repairs. The machine was great when it works as it should. It was quiet and I love the eco mode, which was my default setting despite it having a long running cycle, around 5hrs for the washing and drying on a full 5kg load.Ironically however, not even 4months in, with the machine not being moved at all since installation, I was seeing a water input fault, then a water drainage fault, which Miele condescendingly sent me an email for to troubleshoot it with a copied and paste text from their manual, but no amount of troubleshooting fixed it. We even had a plumber look at the drainage, and he said he could find no problem. Then the faults magically disappeared, and it was fine again until...Not even 6months in, I was now having problems with the dryer function. Miele sent a technician who claimed it was a sensor problem; it took 2weeks with no dryer for it to be replaced because they had to get the sensor from Germany. After that was sorted, the machine had about 2-3 drying cycles before it stopped working again. I was out of the house and it did not help that the alarm function was so loud and piercing, there was even no way to mute it on the Miele app unless you manually turn off the machine completely. So the machine kept making alarm noises until I got back home. Technician was called again; it took around 5-7 days before they could reply to you by email, and another 5-7 days to send a technician out to diagnose the problem, and, depending on the replacement part, a good 10-17days for it to be replaced. The technician said the fan "seized" this time, and this was 2weeks ago. On chasing Miele about this, I was told the technician will come for the repair next Tuesday, after the Coronation bank holiday.I will add an update to this review at some point, but at the moment, I have no dryer and now have to haul out my dehumidifier. I do big loads of washing, so this is a good deal of inconvenience to me. Miele should compensate me for the number of days I was not able to use the machine dryer (who am I kidding?). For such an expensive piece of kit, it was definitely overrated. I wish I went ahead and got a Bosch instead!Update 23/09/23: So. On 15 May 2023, a Miele engineer finally arrived and changed the fan for the dryer. We thought it was alright until we found that he forgot to put back the retaining wire around the rubber seal door. So we had to message Miele again because we would not want to risk puncturing the rubber seal by putting the wire back ourselves without proper equipment. Two engineers (not the same one who had been coming from the beginning) came on 7 June 2023 to put the wire back and did "quality" checks; they said it was working "great". The washer dryer did not give us problems until 14 September 2023: same problem - F399. This was the fault code for the dryer, and the fault/alarm showed after the wash cycle finished and the drying cycle began. Again. So, once again, we messaged Miele on the same day and did not hear back until 21 September 2023; we were told the engineer was booked for us for 2 October 2023. Therefore, no dryer for us for nearly three weeks. What if this happens again after the two year warranty is done? Miele should have replaced the whole unit right from the start instead of just patching it up. I did complain about this before, but of course, no bueno. Either I complain about them to the Ombudsman (which will be stressful for sure), or just sell this right after it gets repaired (at least I get some money back to buy a new washer dryer!). Most likely the latter.I will try give an update again in the future.

Worth every penny
I had a washing machine for 8 years from another brand that worked perfectly well till it broke. When I decided to buy another I wasn’t sure that I can change to another brand because it was really good. Now after I had the Meile, it’s a whole different story. Clothes comes out not just clean but fully dry. I don’t have to worry if I adjusted the correct time for drying or if I added too much detergent, the machine will automatically adjusted for me. The phone app is really helpful as well. Never changing again. I hope it last long as I expect. I’ll update my review if any problem come up while using it longer.
