A lot of reviews almost turned me away from this hoop as I wanted to put it together and then slowly add weight as needed. I saw people say they could not breakdown the hoop once put together but thankfully, that was not the case. To put the hoop together, it is much like changing the size of a scooter, push the button down and click in place (I have attached a picture of the pieces). To get the hoop apart you must find the the button bump underneath the foam (see pictures), push down HARD on it and pull. It was surprisingly simple. The hardest thing for me was connecting the final pieces, this required the help of someone with actual strength. All in all the thing is super sturdy, hasn’t fallen apart while I’m actively hooping, AND comes with a tailors tape measure to track your waist. Great purchase, may need help putting together if you have any hand mobility issues.

Value for the money yes padding I would probably recommend that you use a thicker T-shirt because it kinda does beat the crap out of you. The weight is nice. It is very sturdy. It is fun to use. It gets five stars because you can compensate for wearing a T-shirt.

My daughter has been bugging me for a weighted hula hoop. I didn't want to get one of the trendy ones as she wants it to look more like a hula hoop. This was not easy to put together as the inserts did not easily go together and my hubby ended up cutting his hand on the metal. But once it was together it seems to work fine.

Return did not work for me

I’m and older female, 5’2” 125 lbs & pretty good shape & this size was great for me. I weight train & run but wanted to add some variety. I assembled it myself & admit the last section takes a bit of strength to get it to click I place. I can’t remember the last time I hula hooped but I got it going on the first try! I threw on some headphones & music & after about 20 minutes I was sweating but it was so much fun. I did not put extra weight in it & not sure if I ever will, so far 2 lbs is good for me. I would keep it on the waist, I let it drop to my hips & got a little bruising on my hip bone area. I’m so glad I got it & recommend it.

This produced is not preweighted the instructions say to add sand, small stones, beans, or rice, which was not clear in the product description as it says Weighted Detachable Exercise Ring. It is very difficult to put together, the parts do not clip in well. When trying to make the circle complete the piece is at the wrong angle and does not fit together well. Multiple times as I get the last piece together, it will fling, or I get it together and another piece will detach. The diameter is about 38 inches, but may be slightly smaller if all the parts would actually fit together. All together would not recommend.

I love the hula hoop. The first time that I used it it kind of hurt my stomach. But after a few times of using it I got used to that and it didn’t really bother me. One of the pieces had a tear in it, and the tear was there whenever it came in the mail. But I used it anyway just to test out how well it works, but I wonder if they will send a replacement piece for that. Because I don’t really want to send the whole hula hoop back, but really just need one piece. Even though there is a tear in it, I’m still giving it five stars because I think that was more of an issue with shipping. Because the box was open when it was delivered. It wasn’t taped together properly

Easy to transport and to put together. It's a little harder to use the stoppers to put beans or pellets in different sections to add weight; don't put the stoppers all the way in unless you don't plan on ever taking the weighted items out. I tried it out and thought at first maybe something was wrong with it because I couldn't get it to stay up when trying to make it spin around me. Then my 78 year old mom picked it up and started hula hooping with it and it didn't drop. So it's just me... It's nice that it has cushioning because it doesn't hurt my hips or bang down hard on my toes when it falls. Good thing, because it hits my toes a lot, other hoops would leave a bruise on me by now. My husband likes that it can come apart when we travel and doesn't take up much space in the van. I think the steel connectors are sturdier than some of the other versions I saw online, and I feel it will last and feels very durable. 9 out of 10

Love this hoop! Excellent quality; lovely and fun style. Was very easy to assemble. I hang it on a hook on my wall, but really appreciate that it disassembles and has a bag for travel and storage.

I wanted a good hoop to tone up my middle age spread. Hooped regularly in my younger years, I hooped a lot and trimmed up after having my babies. Hoops in stores were just too cheap and light. This hoop is well made, maybe a little too heavy for a beginner, and taking me longer to get the hang of it again. I did get a couple of bruises on my back when I first started using, but probably because I am out of shape. Do not add rice or beans for weight until you can handle the weight of the hoop alone. Little bit everyday is key. I know this will help my waistline, I reccomend.

We like this exercise tool. It’s not to be thrown around. It will last many years.
