yes, there are attached instructions, and they are clear step by step pictures.

My son already finished building the dubai lego set. will he be able to add this light set to it or will he have to take the set lego set apart?

You will have to partially take it apart to install the lights. My son has done a lot of these and he always has said that it’s better to build the set first so you understand how it went together and then go back and take it apart as needed to install the lights. You will not have to completely take it apart. Hope that helps!
