Q: I have an 11 year old who loves building nanoblocks, and I'm looking for the next thing. Anyone else have a younger child enjoy metal earth? or wait?

Our nephew started building metal earth at age 11. With a little supervision and extra patience we are certain they will enjoy these models too!

Q: Are tools required to build?

Definitely. I use an X-Acto knife to cut the pieces from the sheet and a small set of needle-noise pliers to bend and twist the tabs for attaching the pieces. No glue is required. Some kits need you to bend pieces into cylinders and small dowels of various sizes to bend the metal around are helpful. Patience and care with the sharp edges is also required IMO. Hope this helps.

Q: which set is the easiest one? I get frustrated easily

Of the Star Wars sets, the Imperial Star Destroyer is relatively straight forward. All metal earth models are frustrating, just need a little patience.
