These paints meet my expectations for the price. Plenty of metallic luster and pigment. Lovely transparency and smooth application. The brushes are decent. No regrets.

IN MY HONEST OPINION THIS SET IS A WONDERFUL ADDITION AND A SUPER DEAL/STEAL PRICED GREAT VALUE FOR ONLY $16.99! THOUGH THERE IS A LOT OF PACKAGING AND EXTRAS INCLUDED, UNLIKE MANY OTHER PAINT SETS I'VE PURCHASED THE MORE FLUFF AND EXTRAS THE LOWER THE QUALITY OF THE PIGMENTS. THIS SET COMES WITH TWO WATER BRUSH PENS, A FLAT AND ROUND & 4 SWATCH CARDS ALL NEATLY TUCKED IN A BLACK "VELVET" POUCH WITH A VERY SWEET THANK YOU NOTE. THE WATERBRUSHES ARE A LOVELY ADDITION SO I DON'T HAVE TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE METALIC PAINT STICKING IN MY NATURAL FIBER BRUSHES! THE PIGMENT VIBRANCY OF THE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL! THE SECOND PAINTING WAS A STARY NIGHT SKY. I ADDED THE SILVER METALIC TO MY WHITE GOUASCHE PAINT AND WOW, IT LIT UP THOSE STARS MAKING THEM REALLY POP!

We absolutely are enjoying these Metallics and husband even painted on his wood carvings and they look amazing

I debated about whether to give this a 3 or 4 star review. After painting a test on both white and black watercolor paper some of the colors don't look as they do in the pans or don't show up on the paper if it's white. I find you need to paint a couple layers at least for the color to be saturated on the paper as opposed to blotchy or muted. I was looking for Rubens metallics I saw on a U-Tube that were vibrant, but couldn't find anywhere online so I bought these instead. It's nice that it's in a small travel size case and came with plastic water color pen-like tubes you fill with the color you wish to paint. I guess I was expecting (hoping for) colors to look on paper more like they look in the tin.

As other reviewers have said, these are quality paints. They cover well if you need something rather opaque, and they dissolve well if you are looking for a smooth wash. They also are non-staining, so they can be lifted off the paper with a wet brush.If you are wondering, the metal case is solid black on the outside and white on the inside. It’s a great little size, and standard half pans fit perfectly. In fact, I like this case better than some expensive travel palettes I’ve tried. Also, the short-than-normal water brushes are a handy size for convenient carrying (especially with the included black “velvet” bag).The water brushes do unscrew opposite to the way I am used to — although the instructions on this webpage are perfectly clear (if I had paid attention to them!)The only possible negative I can see is that some colors of my paints seemed to be mislabeled…some definitely were mislabeled (i.e., “yellow” for an aqua blue)…and the selection of colors I received did not exactly match what was listed. As I looked more closely, I noticed the color selections are not even consistent in the photos. This would only be a problem if you need a specific hue (i.e., there are two purples listed but I received only one). However, the color selection I did receive is lovely and harmonious and close to the photos. In fact, I like it better! It has a good variety of hues to choose from to accent any subject I can think of. I simply stopped trying to match the labels and made up my own names for my swatch cards.In short, this is a great buy!
