No, I would not say lavender. I think it smells more like mint. However, it does not have a strong medicinal smells as some other shampoos do and it does not linger. I do suggest a decent conditioner in conjunction with the shampoo to keep your hair manageable.

Q: how is the price of this compared to the store price?

It varies by store. I'm not sure why the other answer says you cannot buy this in stores. You can buy all the Redken products many places, including grocery stores. The price, right now, is $15.50 on Ulta.com, but they do not have Prime shipping.

Q: can you use it on color treated hair

It was recommended to me by the salon I was at. The Redken representative had been there previously and recommended the product for those with color treated hair. I still noticed that it has sodium laureth sulfate, which is what I thought stripped hair coloring. I do blond highlights and apricot highlights every couple months and haven't noticed it diminishing my color much, besides what kind if normal diminishing occurs anyway. For how my scalp feels I think it is worth it to possibly lose a little color.
