Fluke 287 True-RMS Electronics Logging Multimeter

This is the first Fluke meter I have used. While quite expensive, it's worth the money. The accuracy is incredible, the build quality is very good, and the safety specs are reassuring. You can see a video on youtube of a cheap multimeter exploding when used with high voltage on the wrong setting; and then a Fluke employee holding a Fluke meter while repeating the previous experiment and the meter is fine. This meter has a ton of parameters to measure, and it's rather easy to use. The backlight is really great, the screen is very visible. The only downside to the screen is that the numbers ghost a bit while changing which can make it tougher to read variable measurements, though the bar graph is a good alternative. The recording/trending function is really the key feature of this meter and will no doubt save you hours of headache and hassle while diagnosing intermittent problems. Navigating the menus could be better, but once you've figured out where things are and what to do then this isn't a problem anymore. The test leads are excellent; they are very fluid and don't kink, but they don't stay in the storage clips as well as I'd like them to. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase. If you need a highly accurate meter, and recording/trending, and care about your personal safety then this is your meter.

Si vienes de utilizar modelos de entrada o gama media de la marca Fluke dar el salto a esta línea es una maravilla, la interfaz es muy similar a lo que se usa en otros modelos pero con un tamaño y retroalimentación mejoradas. No hay quejas es un equipo increíble y los agregados que tiene son muy buenos. En cuanto al envío a pesar de que llegó dentro de una bolsa no llegó dañado el empaque.

Nice meter. Very accurate. I'm measuring DC deep cycle batteries and can see down to 0.001 vols with stability. You really need that kind of accurate resolution when you're dealing with solar and deep-cycle. The unit comes with a manufacturing cert showing how it tested at time of manufacture. It shows various voltages and the units test results. I rate it lower on value for money, because it's a very expensive volt meter. But, expect it will last me many years, so I was willing to invest in better gear.

What a great multimeter should be: accurate, easy to use, easy to read, rugged as a brick. This is it. Well worth the price, it will last you a lifetime. 'Nuff said.
