Generac 6463 Mobile Link for Wireless Remote Monitoring

Works. Kind of expensive. Wish there was a wifi option

Does not send Text or EMAIL updates as advertised which was biggest reason we purchased. We have contacted manufacturer twice but not resolved yet. We will be returning if not resolved shortly. UPDATE: They completely resolved the Text and Email glitch for us. We are very happy with this product and it's features!!!

Just purchased the Mobile Link monitoring unit for my Genera 22kW unit... The set up was easy enough... here are my initial thoughts:Pros:Nice to see the status of your unit and have a central location for controlNotices for power failures will be niceCons:Costly... the unit costs nearly $300 then add to that a monthly subscription and the cost is significant in my opinionFunctionality... when you check the status of your unit, you will see several data points from 2013, even though you did not own the unit in 2103. A call to Generac support (which set me back about 20 minutes due to hold times) and you will be informed that data is loaded into all units that ship. Personally I find it quite tacky and unprofessional to code in false data points to ship in a new unit.I will do my best to provide an update after using the unit for some time

Wasn't sure this would work since I have sketchy cell phone coverage in my neighborhood. Much to my surprise it works well. I thought I had activated it by myself on line as I was receiving alerts. The top light never lit when it should have been. Called tech support.. they said it was registered so they did it on the phone and then "bing" the top light came on. Has worked well ever since. I did have delays but then tech support suggested I change the timing of my weekly exercise because the factory default was causing thousands of machines to send data all at the same time. That solved the delay issue. Very happy! Ask me next year when I have to pay for the service instead of the first year free. :-)

Returned once realized had to pay a monthly fee forever to recieve this information on my phone. You think after thousands on a Generac generator and $300 on this it would talk to my Home router and provide this info free to me on my phone, especially after $thousands in investment for my home.

The description should show that it requires a yearly subscription to work. It really should have had a wifi option without requiring cell service. I just wanted an app that would show me the same information as the generator screen as I am too lazy to go around the house and look myself.

not sure why I bought this because I thought I found a great deal on a sat-phone that nobody knew about. Come to find out, you have to install this on a backup generator :( I did have one of those and so it does work great for that purpose
