This is a very simple to use device that comes with instructions printed on a handy case so you never lose them, but honestly, it is very simple to use, just press the tip into the soil until you reach the line on the tip and then read the washer on the gauge. I haven't been able to test this against actual engineered soil borings but if I can I will come back to report and edit this post.

The results I’ve received with it seem a little inflated so my confidence in the accuracy is shaky at best. However it seems to work great, providing consistent (even if questionable) results, simple as can be to use, and WAYYY better price than anything else I could find on here. The only reason it’s 4 and not 5 stars is because I haven’t had the opportunity to verify it off more precise measuring methods to see how close they are. If the results are good then it’s 5 stars all day

Great product at a much reduced price from normal survey or engineering supply houses. Same great quality with fast shipping. Carry sheath is a little flimsy but does not detract at all from the quality of the tool.
