Excellent quality and an easy install
Excellent quality and an easy install. They could have gone a little further with the instruction, but if you're installing one of these, you should already have a good idea about what you're doing. I installed this on a 69 SS396 Camaro so I could keep a stock looking distributor and also have a rev limiter and not have to screw around with setting points and replacing points ever. You will have to run a relay. I ran a nice neat wire up from my starter's main lug to the relay and triggered it off my original resistor wire. DO NOT USE THE RESISTOR WIRE THAT COMES FACTORY on some older cars as the primary power. Verify it will always have a steady 12v when the key is on. Be careful with installing the relay and verify the pin out. The one I bought had the white wire as a ground and the black wire was the 12v trigger... The directions had that reversed which is what it should have been. The car ran like it had 3 plug wires unplugged. I was surprised it ran at all. Once I figured it out and reversed the wires it ran great. The hardest part for me was finding a good ground location without drilling an extra hole in my firewall. I want to hide the relay and extra wiring better. I've already run it for about 400 miles.

Ignitor IiI seems to be prone to issues check the forums
I installed this along with ignitor III coil in my 65 Buick wildcat. I hate to give it a 1 star because it does work really well. It make acceleration smooth. It took out the advance hesitation. However, I have only driven this car a couple miles about 5 times since installed. It has failed on me the last 2 times. Just dies and won’t restart. Once on a railroad track. I have since learned that you can jump it with a wire from the battery to the coil and it will start. I got it to fail in the driveway by Erving it up a couple times. I did all the tests and everything is as they say it should be. I went through a lot of forums and found many people are having the same problem with the ignitor III. It seems to be too sensitive. The Ignitor I & II don’t seem to have the same issues. They seems to be more stable. I have filled out a warranty form but haven’t heard from them. Would love to exchange the ignitor III for the II.

I'm Sold On The Pertronix 71181 Ignitor III Ignition Module.
My classic muscle car had an MSD billet distributor and 6AL ignition box in it that I wasn't happy with. I purchased an auto parts store rebuilt points style distributor, added a Mr Gasket shim kit to eliminate the excessive shaft end play and then purchased and installed thisPertronix 71181 Ignitor III ignition module along with the Pertronix 44011 Flame-Thrower III Black 45,000 volt ignition coil. Installation of the ignition module was straight forward and the rpm rev limiter is a great feature along with the multi-spark feature all the way from idle to 10,000 rpm's. Engine starts and performs better than the MSD setup and now looks like an original stock points ignition system.

Worse than using points
Works OK when you first install it. There's a reason people say, "I used a Pertronix module for a while before getting HEI." It's because this thing is worse than using points. At least points are reliable. Don't waste your money on this Chinatronix junk, just get your distributor converted to HEI. I had the Ignitor I, then the Ignitor III hoping things would be better... NOPE. They work great at first, then you wish you never converted your points. Do yourself a favor and either 1) keep your points, or 2) convert to HEI. If you convert to HEI you can retain your small-body distributor and keep using an external coil. Don't fall for the gimmicks like the Ignitor series from Pertronix.

Shrunk A Lot Even In Cool Water.
These look good, however, they shrink a lot, even washing in cool water, and drying on delicate. My advise, would to buy the next size larger than what you need. I have two of these, in different colors, bought at the same time. It's taken me a while to send my review, but after the third time washing (with care) they are pretty much useless. I bought the 60 X 84 inch. The 60 inch width, is now 52 inches. Length has shrunk about the same. Again, washed in cool, dried on delicate. I would not recommend this product.

Very noticeable performance increase
After my Ignitor 2 failed after 14 good years of service (fried after boosting too many times from tired starter), I installed Ignitor 3 & matching Flamethrower 3 coil.1974 Olds Delta 88 Royale Conv has never run smoother or had as much zip!

Pertronix Igniter III is working great
This is a quality product and is working great. It was very easy to install with the provided instructions. I had an original Crane Cams points replacement kit installed in my 1966 Corvette when I got it but I wanted something that was newer technology and created a better spark than my original points conversion. The engine fired right up after making the swap. I also purchased with this the Pertronix Fireball III coil to go with it. Recommend this product to anyone with a Delco Remy points distributor. I did end up removing my distributor for easier installation access but this might not be 100% necessary.

Want a smooth running engine, with a stock look, then look no further!
I installed this on my 1957 Buick Century (combined with a Pertronix Flame-Trower III). I was having an rough idling issue, and always had to keep my engine revved up a little at red lights for the fear of my engine stalling. It took me under an hour to install, and immediately I noticed a difference. The engine idled smoother, and I noticed my gas mileage go up about 1-2 MPG. And the engine ran smooth through the whole RPM range. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a clean stock look.
