it worked as an adapter but needed 2 washers.
It finally did work although I had to try several times to keep the 1/2 inch side from leaking. I finally put 2 washers in each one and that stopped the leak. I only gave 3 stars because now I do not have any washers left for the other two adapters that I did not use. It should come with better washers.

Red seal is not thick enough on some angle stop valve to seal.
Works fine if double the seal, othewise leaking is unavoidable.

leaks due to design
The 1/2" side of these adapters needs to seal by compressing the soft washers. The problem is that the internal threads are actually tapered FIP threads. This means that the deeper into the fitting, the smaller the diameter of the fitting. That means, if you are using this fitting properly, the male end may not reach the washer before it's too tight. As another reviewer suggested, I put two washers in each fitting and was able to stop the leak. This is not ideal. This type of fitting should have straight threads, not tapered.
