Q: Would these work in heels?

Yes. I used them in closed toe heels. Also thong heels but i cut some off toe are so it wouldnt show.

Q: Will these stop my feet from sliding forward in heels?

There are so many variables to answer your question. If you're wearing nylon stockings or nylon socks not likely because the surface is quite similar to nylon. And yet it is an insert so your shoe will fit a little bit snugger so therefore could that keep your foot from sliding forward maybe maybe not. Every factor of how you wear your shoe what kind of foot where you put on your feet before you put it in your shoe and the angle of the shoe all of these things make a difference you'll have to choose and decide once I put it in my shoe my foot didn't slide anymore because it took up the slack so there was no place for my foot to slides so I had total comfort of foot placement where it what placement where it was. Platform shoe I don't know what kind of thing you're gonna get in high heels or pumps I have no idea and again with what kind of stockings you choose you'll have to decide

There’s no adhesive but the pressure of your foot keeps them in place, as well as the sides/top/back of the shoe in which they’re inserted.
