Envigo (Formerly Harlan) Teklad Growth Rat Food Diet Global 2018 (10lbs)

My baby squirrel loves these and they're vegetable flavor however I wish I could've bought a smaller bag and it was cheaper. I paid $30 for a 5lb bag because the smaller bags were seafood flavor and I wouldn't suggest that flavor for a squirrel.

I fed this to my three juvenile female ratties. The 20lb came divided into about 4 vacuum-sealed foil bags, and lasted for about 7 months. My rats ate this along with fresh fruits and veggies, plus various treats. They loved it, grew well, and have healthy coats.

I raise rats as food for birds of prey. I've tried other Big Box store brands, but the rats really seem to like these blocks. Happy, healthy rats = healthy food for others.

I purchased this food per a recommendation from a rat forum that it was a high-quality and nutritious food. I started mixing it in with their current food (Oxbow), and they go nuts over it! Every time I put in a mixture, they go through and pick out this stuff first until it's completely gone, and only then will they go back to their other food! One of my boys even makes hoards of it before it runs out. The seller was prompt and I received my order very quickly.I did notice a few other reviews saying they had to put it in a different container to store it, but they may have changed their packaging as I got the 5lb bag in a sturdy, resealable bag.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR REHAB SQUIRRELS.I order the 5 lb bags, sometimes a couple at a time to use as a diet staple for squirrel rehab and release. These blocks are the very first solid food I offer to baby squirrels, and most of them take to it really well. I also use the 2018 blocks to make "flour" as a base for vitamin and calcium packed squirrel cookies. I have raised over 100 squirrels and the diet plan I stick to for them is Teklad 2018, Henry's blocks and fresh veggies and fruit, in that order.My only issue, and the rain for 4 instead of 5 stars, is this time and the last time my package was damaged. This order both bags are opened. I'm not certain if they are safe for my squirrels to eat, and I can't find where I can request a replacement.

Our baby rats had been doing well on Oxbow, but we decided to try this for some variety. I was a little nervous about buying something repackaged, but I also definitely didn’t want a giant bag in case they didn’t like it. My plan had been to mix the two foods, but on the first day the rats only ate this one and left the Oxbow in their bowl. I tried for several more days to get them to at least finish the rest of the bag of Oxbow which they had eaten with no problem, but they absolutely refused even when that’s all I gave them for a few hours. So, whoever thought rats can’t be discriminating was incorrect! They are growing and seem very healthy on this supplemented with fresh fruits and veggies etc.I will continue to order this one until they’re old enough to switch to the 2014. I’m very glad this food has been made available to pet owners!

My boys love this food. They switched from their breeder's food to this with no problem. I supplement with fresh veggies as treats daily for some added variety. I track my rats weight weekly, and all 3 growing quickly at approximately the same rate.

They would eat a little too much haha but they loved eating these. The pellets were pretty big and they smelled decent. My rats fur was sleek and they were a healthy weight. I think it was because of these, I tried giving them Oxbow pellets and instantly noticed they were not as good (the quality was subpar). I also tried Kaytee and Mazuri. They actually liked Mazuri a lot, I was just worried about the corn quantity in them. These are the best for your rats.
