The ION Audio Keystone speaker has an internal, non user-replaceable rechargeable battery. Although the Keystone is not solar-powered, there is still a solar panel on the speaker which will allow you to wirelessly charge the Keystone. Although you can use solar energy for charging, you also can bring the Keystone inside for a wired charge with the included power supply.   How long does the battery last? The battery can last up to 100 hours on a single charge.   Is the battery user-replaceable? The battery is not user-replaceable.  If the battery will not charge or hold a charge, contact ION Audio Technical Support for further assistance.   How do you link the Keystone pair together? Out of the box, the ION Audio Keystone speakers ""autolink"" for a seamless connection between the two speakers. Power on each Keystone by pressing their power buttons. You will hear “Power On” for confirmation.  The speakers will automatically, wirelessly link for stereo sound. The speakers will search for each other while playing an intermittent tone. Once the stereo pair is successfully linked, you will hear “Pairing successful, connected” followed by “Left channel” and “Right channel” on the respective speakers.This process may take up to 2 minutes the first time two speakers are linked. Speakers that were previously linked will re-link automatically in a few seconds if powered on in range of one another.Note:Keystone speakers should be within 30 ft. (9 m) of each other to Link properly.  When the stereo link is confirmed by the solid green LED, press the Bluetooth Connect button on either speaker or the included remote to enter Bluetooth Pairing Mode.Note:The Left channel will be the “master” speaker, and the unit from which the Bluetooth range will be determined.  On your Bluetooth device, navigate to your Bluetooth settings menu, find Keystone, and connect. Once the Bluetooth connection is made, the blue LED will be solid. Nice try but...
Nice try with some tempting features BUT one of the two speakers I received would not charge. Kind of defeats the purpose of a truly wireless speaker when you have to leave it plugged in. Oh well, there aren't too many choices out there so you might want to take your chances on getting two speakers that actually work.

Doesn’t hold charge!!!
These speakers are very large and only last for a few hours after being fully charged. Even being placed out in the sun. They need to be placed pretty close to one another in order to properly connect and play music. Wish I could return but I missed my return window.

I am glad I did
After reading other reviews it was very hard for me to commit to buy these. However, I risk it as it was just what I was looking for. I am glad I did! Set up was a breeze, the speakers recognized each other and the bluetooth connection is as easy as it gets. I charged them for about 8 hours prior to first use. I have them mounted in the pool area and the soud quality is very good! It's been two days of moderate use and the battery is still over 50%. I have not tried charging them using the solar panel. I might update this review when I do. At the time, the speakers are separated by 12 feet. I have no need to move them further apart. Also, I have walked around the yard with my iphone in my pocket at a distance of about 40 feet away from the speakers with no issues at all. They are loud! In summary, for my needs this is a perfect fit.

Batteries will not Charge
So far not happy. As others have reported the speakers will not charge. I have contacted Ion Audio and I am waiting for a response to see if they can rectify the problem before I return them to the seller. My guess is these have been sitting too long in the sellers warehouse, the instructions state if the batteries have been drained for longer than 6 months they may not hold a charge. This is a big problem. I bought them for their rechargeable capabilities they are of no use to me if they have to be plugged in.
