Q: Suitable for 8 and 10 year-olds?

Yes suitable with supervision. My 3 grandkids - ages 6, 8 and 13 love making these.

Q: Is there a product to apply that will keep finished product from fading or rotting?

I wound imagine some sort of spray sealant would work.

Q: Can someone please post the dimensions of the inside area of the houses and entrance size?

Did these with my grandson a year ago. The entry hole was about 1.5” round. The houses were in the 7 to 8 inch height range, 4 or 5 inches deep. Die cuts were clean. Assembly without glue? I seem to remember was advertised but use some good, quick glue. Fun.

may be good for small birds-mostly for craft enjoyment and art.
