Nothing better at a lower price
This is a solid, simple cd transport, built-in low power stereo amplifier, and rechargeable battery. I charged the unit overnight and got 6 hours of continuous use before it started to lag. Pretty impressive for a compact unit. The transport seems the real jewel here. Works extremely well and professionally. The amp is clean enough and has adequate power for earphones. I used one of the earphone outputs as a line out into a system—per the enclosed instructions—and it was acceptable. The output in this case is controlled by the volume control as it would be for earbuds. There was a sweet spot where the volume out was enough to provide clear signal to the music system and not distort from overdriving the connected amplifier. But it was a fairly specific level that had to be found to make it serviceable. Once found, it sounded just fine. All in all a really good value if you need something more than a “discman” but less than an audiophile cd deck. And—it travels with you nicely.

Amazing sound Quality
My son said the cd player works good and has many different settings to top it off! He has been waiting to get one to listen to his cd’s he’s been collecting. Overall a good product!

Does what it says it does!
I am about to take a lengthy car trip and knew I did not want to face it without access to my own choice of music! My 2018 Mazda has a great sound system, but no CD player - rather, it is set up to support streaming services or other "new" technology. Not for me! After much research I found this gem - the right price, and the sound is great. I hook it up to my sound system using the cable provided to connect the aux plug in my console with the headphone output on the CD player. I suppose to someone adept at cell technology, the thought of fiddling with CD's would be unthinkable, but I am very pleased! My only (minor) complaint is that I am having a bit of trouble getting used to the buttons and functions on the player...

Lightweight, Compact, Perfect!
After 19 years with a cheap ol' Radio Shack cd-player, I was looking to replace my dying machine. I chose this model because I liked the look, it seemed to have good reviews, and it was the right price for me. I've been using it for over a week now, and so far, this Monodeal has met or exceeded my expectations! The buttons are nice; well spaced and textured. Very responsive as well. The light is bright, but not blinding. And the dual headphone ports are a surprising bonus. I've utilized them several times now. The battery has a decent charge time; although I listen so frequently I have to re-charge it every other day or so. But it charges quickly and is less of a hassle than dealing with double a's.CDs themselves fit nice and snug, and even some of my more beat up discs can still be read with the anti-skip! I tend to play with the anti-skip off, though (disabled by holding the EQ button) for better audio quality! Haven't used the modes yet, but the EQ options are actually really nice. Not too overbearing, but adds just that bit of extra sheen or wool that you might be looking for on thinner-mastered recordings. Note: I didn't use the earbuds included, but my own pair of high-quality headphones.Perhaps my only complaint (and it's only a minor one) is that when lowering the volume to the lowest point, the audio seems to fade out in the right ear quicker than the left. But most portable CD players I've ever owned do the very same, and you really have to crank it low for this to happen. At normal to louder listening volumes, the balance is perfect!Overall, I'd rate this a 5 star product. It's definitely an improvement over my old model. Plus it looks way cooler! Here's hoping it'll last the next 20 years. :D

Looks like a miniature Record Player, but is actually a Compact Disc Player in disguise!
I originally said that this version should be used for home use, not in the car, but I was able to test it out while riding in my dad's car to the city, and it performed perfectly! All in all, it's a great product! Love the Retro-like style look to it, and the earbuds the come with it? I was pleasantly surprised by the sound! The instructions are easy to follow and, as for having a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery as opposed to using regular batteries and replacing them when their dead, there's no contest! I'll take this over the other models any day, plus the hookup to your stereo system is extremely easy; I would definitely buy another one of these, as well as recommend this to a friend!

You Get What You Pay For
OK CD player with a weak preamp. Stops mid song sometimes and then continues playing. Very annoying!Would not recommend.

Great for use in car
I have one of those recent cars that does not have a built-in CD player (the previous car had a 6-CD player, perfect for long trips), so one has to depend on a portable CD player. The one I had was not very skip resistant, which is very irritating. I got the Monodeal because it promised good anti-skip protection. It is an elegant item with 2 output jacks for the driver and passenger; it has an equalization control for jazz, rock, classical, etc, which is a nice touch. Sound is fine for a car; reasonable volume when played through car's aux input and in 454 miles of road of widely varying quality, never skipped once!
