Good diet book that doesn't make you feel like you're dieting
Stroll through the aisles of the diet books at any bookstore and you'll get a sense of one thing: You're going to have to majorly deprive yourself of things. The problem with that is that if one deviates from that plan the weight comes right back on. Like the Atkins plan - if you eat even a small amount of carbohydrates, the next trip to the scale is a painful one. Plus there's the whole ketosis breath thing. That's not going to happen if you use the Belly Fat Diet. You're not going to stop eating the things that you like, you're just not going to eat them as often. Oh, and you're not going to stop eating - just spread the meals out.The book starts off explaining exactly why belly fat is bad in terms of one's overall health, including the factors that can cause it and the complications that it can lead to, including diabetes. After that, the book lays out an eating plan where a person eats up to six small meals a day from a selection of foods that are designed to help shed the troublesome belly fat. People are encouraged to set aside one cheat day where they can eat one of their favorite vices: in moderation, of course.Afterwards, two exercise plans are shown, and both of them are designed for people with busy lives. They use interval training, where people alternate between moderate exercise and intense exercise - a proven technique to burn off calories and heighten one's metabolism in a shorter amount of time than just exercising at the same intensity for a longer time. There's the 50/50 plan that incorporates both cardiovascular exercise and strength training. As an alternative, there's the 30-minute workout which uses exercises from the 50/50 plan and condenses it into a half-hour.To top it off, the book ends with a cookbook of easy-to-make breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes as well as dessert. This book, which is written in an easy-to-read style that doesn't talk to down to the reader. The chapters are short and won't leave you feeling bogged down. It deserves a look-see if you are looking to lose that stubborn belly fat. Then you can use your strolls around the diet books section for exercise.

I thought it was for vanity but I am adding years to my life, too!
I bought this book for three reasons: (1) vanity and (2) time and (3) money.(1) I am not obese but, now in my late 40s, I find that I am less and less comfortable in the 32-inch-waist pants I have been proudly wearing since my mid 20s. I have developed a little gut and, frankly, I cannot easily accept it. I am vain. I want to look good.(2) I had seen those little ads online about how the "lose belly fat with this one weird old trick" and had clicked on it once, only to discover that it was a seemingly unending video presentation that never got around to the point. Adios, weird old trick.(3) I came across The Belly Fat Diet by accident while shopping for a book on Amazon by an author with a similar name. It got my attention. I thought about my growing gut. I asked myself "What have I got to lose for a $3.82 download?"I thought these were three important reasons but after just the few fast-reading chapters, I discovered that there are other, far more important, health-related reasons to lose the belly fat. Even more so, this book demystified for me WHY the fat was there in the first place. See, I don't eat junk food. I don't drink beer. I ride my bike to work daily, etc. So, it didn't make sense that I was getting fat. This book explained why it's unhealthy and how to get rid of it. I am excited to get started on the actual diet (which is not the strenuous exercise and calorie deprivation regimen you're expecting) which I think will add a few years to my life as well as remove inches from my middle.I really recommend this book to any of you middle-agers out there who fighting the "belt-line hangover."
