ADATA SE900G 1TB External SSD

I use it for my primary data drive. So when I go on a trip, I can just grab it and hook it up to my LT and it's like I never left home as the performance between the internal M.2 and this USB C drive is such that I really don't notice it. I have another external SATA drive I backup to in case this one goes bad and I keep it in my fireproof safe. (Not that anything on it is valuable except to me.)

Wanted to get Starfield but no room on my SSD for it and heard horror stories trying to run from an HDD. This SSD connects through my USB 3.0 port. It's not as fast as my internal SSD but it's 20x faster than my internal HDD. Runs the game like a champ. And it's the fastest USB SSD that won't break the bank. None on the market yet that can get to the max speed of a USB C but thisnis the fastest I have found.Only downside is the colored lights in the housing are always on unless you power down your PC.

Good quality. The RGB lighting works like a charm, and the device is well made and sturdy. The user interface is simple, but i wish the app had more work done on it. Sometimes a bit buggy to deal with but it backs up data perfect. Could use a better program design i guess ascetically.

So I was reading a lot of reviews and people say that the speeds are slower than advertised. If you switch to a better cable you'll get better results. The included cable is generic and doesn't allow the higher speed transfers. I tried one of my own cables that is a bit better quality and it was faster. I don't remember the speeds but I did notice an improvement.I've had no issues with it failing but I've used it as an external drive connected to my PlayStation 5 to store games. Playing the PlayStation 4 games off this drive is quick and easy as is transferring the games back and forth.

A lifesaver for additional storage space on my gaming PC. I run a dedicated Palword server off this and load times are as fast as anything. RGB is useless but cool to look at. 10/10 product

This has been unusable for me due to connection issues. It takes several tries for it to connect to my PC, blu-ray player, and PS4. When it does connect to my PC, it is nearly impossible to eject. I just keep getting the message that it is in use even when I close every potentially related program, folder or process. If I just shutdown my computer and remove it, it is inoperable when I move it to another device. I rely on luck to get it to work. I've spent many hours looking for a solution to this with no luck.When I've used it on my PS4, it connects ok, but will randomly disconnect making downloaded games unusable. This leads to the PS4 repairing the drive, sometimes retaining the data and sometimes not. With the Blu-ray player it will only connect occasionally.If you don't have the same connection issues, it may be a good drive because it is at least fast.One last problem is the light up screen on one side. This is incredibly annoying and unnecessary. I always face the light up side down, but depending on the orientation of the USB input this may be difficult. Luckily, this just stopped working eventually.

I purchased this a while ago and just didn't get motivated to learn how to use it until recently. My HP Pavilion gaming laptop started to bog down with the games I was playing so I broke this out and started using it. Working really well so far. Only small complaint I have is the length of the USB C cord that comes with it is a bit to small for me to position it out of the way but I am sure that is easily replaceable.

The only issue I have encountered was that I needed to format the drive to work with my Mac - the instructions inform you that you may have to do that. Other than that minor inconvenience this is a good SSD
