1-Inch x 12-Inch Auger Drill Bit for Wood, Hex Shank 3/8-Inch One Piece, Ship Auger Long Drill Bit for Soft and Hard Wood, Plastic, Drywall and Composite Materials

I ordered 2 on separate orders. A 10" and an 8" length. My first one was working well as designed. It ruined on me after only the 8th hole drilling. All my fault. I accidently hit a Simpson Strong Tie 1 1/2" hanger nail on the other side of the double joist and 4x6 post. The screw tip got destroyed and got dull of course but completed about 2 more holes before I went to a spade bit to complete the job. Not the tool's fault for being destroyed. Drills through pressure treated lumber with ease and minimal need to wobble the bit. It seems to pull itself in as well like some of the name brand auger type wood drill bits. I like the 3/8" hex type shank. More torque allowed with a 20v Dewalt drill driver. Thought I was going to be able to use it with my 12v Dewalt impact driver in a pinch but the shank is not going to fit the 1/4" impact driver's bit holder. Works well and my 2nd one is doing well with none of my mistakes from the first one.

Worked as advertised

The drill bit worked perfectly. I expect that it will last a long time given its quality.

It worked to about 2-3", then was hard to get further down. I got a little carried away in one area when it started to go deeper and then it got stuck and I can't get it out! So project only got 30% done. That bit will be stuck there all summer!

Worked as advertised. I dilled 20 holes in a pecan tree stump and it worked marvelously.

I used this drill to make holes in creosote RR ties for rebar support. Works well.

Drilled 7 holes into treated 6x6s and it's dull already. Not a good product. Do not buy if you are actually gonna use it. Spend the extra money and buy an irvin drill bit. I had to go buy one anyway.
