I have Extremely High Waffle Standards, Believe
I was in the market to become a proud first time owner of a waffle iron. However I was not going to settle for any "low-cost" or "gimmic" waffle iron. I could say I was on a sabbatical to find an iron that would make perfect waffles with a crisp outside and steamy-fluffy insideAfter many waffle iron inspired excursions to thrift shops, pawn shops, Walmart, and Target, I knew I had to turn to Amazon to see what the buzz was. I soon realized after my excursions and through the amazon reviews that although those waffle irons that flip upside down are cool, all the ones I could afford (less than $60) are "flimsy" and feel like a toy. I take my waffle making seriously and do not want to feel like I am playing make-believe-kitchen with my 6 year old niece. Also my engineering instinct tells me to stick to what is simple, which led me to this cute little snapper. THIS WAFFLE IRON IS AMAZING. I have only made three waffles on it so far, but IT MADE PERFECT GOLDEN CRISPY WAFFLES WITH HOT STEAMY-FLUFF ON THE INSIDE. And it required no cleaning! And it stores upright nicely! And... And... And... I have decided, unless you run a professional kitchen or feed a family of 13 waffles every day, you do not need to pay any more money for a professional waffle iron that "flips" or "shoots flames out its behind". This waffle iron is inexpensive, but I have no regrets. This iron does exactly what I want it to do. And that is to make perfect waffles.

Great purchase for idiot proof maker! Easy to operate & clean too! Love it!!!
I've wanted to purchase a waffle maker for a while, but I hesitated spending the money for an appliance that does just one thing, and what if it didn't do the job I bought it for, or I simply didn't like it. Well, after reading all the reviews, I broke down and bought it. I am so glad I did. I tried it yesterday and it makes awesome waffles. They're thick too. One waffle makes one filling meal. You don't need anything else. On top of it, this one is idiot proof. Plug it in, wait until the light goes off and pour in the batter. Presto! You have a waffle. Be advised, the waffles these make are thick. Any recipe you use to make waffles with this will use more batter than with other makers. i.e. my recipe makes 16 servings, but with this maker, the recipe made just 4 waffles. Delicious too. Of course, that wasn't the maker doing that. It is also quick clean up: Just wipe up. That's it. I'm pleased with it and I don't impress easily. I highly recommend for anyone that wants an easy to use, easy to clean waffle maker. Did I mention that to save space on your countertop or in your closet, it stores away on its side.

Great Waffles!
I bought this waffle maker for the 4th of July because I wanted some good darn tootin' belgian waffles! I read a lot of reviews and after being overwhelmed and fighting a head ache I just decided to buy this waffle maker....and I'm glad I did.Sometimes in the morning, I'm just lazy. Seriously. My husband lays in bed until breakfast and coffee are made and my 5-year-old runs around asking for this, that and some other things! (One day they can make breakfast!)I mix up my Krusteez belgian waffle mix and just dump it in the waffle maker! Perfect waffles. Some waffle mixes, like Great Value and Bisquick don't seem to make as good of waffles as the Krusteez mix does.I turn the waffle maker on, by plugging it in. I let it heat up and then I spray some PAM on the irons. I then dump my mix into the waffle maker. I'll be honest (this is where the lazy part comes in) I don't care if I put too much mix it and it starts oozing out the sides and all down my waffle maker. Why?! Because once the waffle maker is cool, all I have to do is take a paper towel and just wipe all the excess off! That easy!

I loved eating the strawberry crepes at Cora's breakfast so I ...
I bought this item 2 years ago and have used it for 2 years. It was shipped to me very quickly with the amazon prime shipping.I loved eating the strawberry crepes at Cora's breakfast so I really wanted to try to make some myself since it can be way cheaper so I tried one of these.I followed a recipe, made the strawberry coulis and custard. And used this waffle baker for the most important thing, the waffle itself. The waffle cooked through great, however I overcooked it the first time as this doesn't have a timer or indicator so it is a little bit of trial and error. It seems like the time it takes to cook a waffle is only about a minute and a half to two minutes. The second waffle came out perfect, golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. All cooked through! And the waffles tasted great. The waffles were pretty filling and every now and then, I will make a date out of these waffle iron with 10 dollars worth of ingredients instead of spending 40 bucks at Coras. The things we make ourselves are also healthier. So the tip is to have one practice waffle, or be ready to open it every 30 seconds and crossing your fingers. It can be a little bit hard to wash though. I rinse it all with water and it still works. I am assuming it is at least somewhat water resistant.I will update my review if something changes my mind about this product in the future. Whether I find something really cool about it or it fails to meet my expectations in the long run by either breaking down or having really bad customer support.

Well... it makes waffles... as promissed
I have been craving waffles for a while... real waffles not those garbage toaster eggoes... well not that they are bad, it's just not the same thing.I finally caved in, came on amazon and ordered this product. Reviews were excellent, price was just right. It was shipped faster than expected, that's always good for me.I tested it the first time on a Sunday morning and it worked perfectly...I don't even know how to make waffles, being new at preparing food for myself... I just mix eggs, flour, milk, water, sugar, salt, melt some butter in the mix... And perfect waffles come out... some times too eggy but that's my own fault. The only flaw I can think of is that I would love to remove the plates or grill... whatever it's called, so I can properly wash them. But I guess at this price I can't expect anything more then a simple, working waffling machine.Recommended for Mom's who want to make waffles for their kids.Recommended for guys who want to prepare some waffles and fry some bacon in the morning... or lunch.Recommended for stoners who want to pull out some killer munchies for his buddies after realizing all you have is eggs, flower and god know what else.

Great Waffles at first try !!!
Honestly, this waffle maker is awesome! I used for my first try one of the recipes from the booklet and they end up surprisingly good and nicely golden. It takes a while to find out exactly how much batter to put in, but it's to be expected.Pros:- Does not stick so the cleaning is super easy (except if you put too much batter!)- Doesn't take too much time to warm up.- They say it takes 5 to 8 min to cook the waffles, but I found out +/-3min was enough (I like them golden, not brown!).- Small size- Super easy to use- PriceCons:- Is is pretty light and I had the filling that it may fell back if you open it a too fast or too hard... Didn't happen but I would be extra careful with children around.- The handle starts to get really hot after the 5th or 6th waffle.- The shape of the handle doesn't feel "safe" to grab... you can just use the tip of your fingers... you will understand this comment if you get one...so, basically, it is not perfect, but I think it's a great deal for many people because honestly, do you really need the Super-Fancy-Super-Expensive one???? I would not recommend for a big family though.

Do not undercook it!
Excellent produc! The first waffle I made splittednin the middle and it was very difficult to gets out of the iron, leaving some doe all over the thing. I cleaned it (the spaces in the texture are large enough to allow easy cleaning) and started over. This I let it cook longer because after tasting the first one I figured it wasa little undercooked. The second one was perfect, as were every other waffle I made since then, I never put much "Pam" in it and still not one waffle ever get stucked as long as its clocked through. The iron will eat up your place though so making waffles in the eat of summer without air conditioning might be risky! Since the receipies they give you make about 3 waffles each they suggest that you can freeze the left over. I dit and reheated them in the microwave (which makes them a little damp) and then passed them in the toaster for about 45 seconds (which makes them crispy and delicious again). I really don't regret this purchase! Amazing product!

Love this waffle maker! Do NOT oil it
This is a fabulous waffle maker. I use it to make my own gluten free waffles. I do actually bake for about 7 mins and they come out crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.A few people have commented on it being difficult to clean. The secret with a nonstick waffle maker is to never, ever oil it. If you do, you will end up with a sticky residue on it that is pretty much impossible to fully clean, and your subsequent waffles will stick even more.I replaced a previous waffle maker because I hadn't known this and had gummed it up.Now, having never oiled this one, I get perfect waffles every time and, when I finish using it, it still looks clean and just needs a quick wipe down and it's back in the cupboard.
