Beautiful 1989 Version of Godzilla (with Video Review)
The media could not be loaded. Monsterarts Godzilla 1989 is a very wonderful interpretation of the BioGoji in toy form. The sculpt is very accurate and the detailed paint is very nice. The claws have this yellowish tint to them which makes them look quite realistic. It's also great that unlike previous Monsterarts Godzillas, the one that I received had perfect eyes, meaning eyes that look the same way so even if you look at him from the front, Godzilla doesn't look confused. The tail is once again the highlight of his posability. It's segmented, each having a ball joint of its own. You can bend and pose it in Godzilla's iconic "S" tail pose. The dorsal plates on his back are also beautiful as they have their own paint scheme as well. When it comes to articulation, Godzilla is somewhat limited but not to the point that he's not fun to play with. Due to the design of this character, 1989 Godzilla has trouble looking up. He can still look sideways and even look down without problems. The arms are a little stiff so I advise you to use some Silicone Shock Oil to loosen them up. Never force tight joints to move or they'll break! The legs and feet are fine, no problem at all. You can reposition them any way you want. The only place really lacking in movement range is Godzilla's waist. He can only crunch down a little bit and that's it. He can't twist to the left or right due to the design once again. Anyway in the movie, Godzilla didn't really do all of those so that's fine, but still, I prefer my toys to be highly posable so it would have been better if they gave him wider movement range there. All in all, Monsterarts Godzilla 1989 is a great value toy for both veteran and new fans of Godzilla. I've attached a video so you can see a different kind of review and how I have fun with my toys. You can find the same video on youtube, just look for me, "Adeno" and "Monstearts Godzilla 1989 Review".This Godzilla doesn't come with any accessories and that's fine. A blast effect would have been great, but personally, I use digital special effects with my toys to have fun anyway.

The “lower jaw” dilemma.
I’ve seen pictures and heard stories. Too much red paint on teeth or curvy lower jaw. I don’t expect Amazon to be as collector item savvy as say BigBadToyStore but my figure came perfect. I have no complaints and I was originally concerned about the rumors. Box was in excellent condition as well, good enough to display. Buy the figure!

Great figure.
Actually like this figure. The tip of the tail does pop off, but it's not a big deal.

Good, but there are some big problems I should point out
Basically as you see here the eyes are extremely messed up and the teeth were pretty messy for the most part. Also the lower jaw on mine came extremely loose and it falls out with ease. I paid $95 for this and have been waiting a very long time for this and I must say it’s very disappointing to see. The articulation is decent and is actually pretty good and it’s sad to see that the original first edition monsterarts had a wider range of movements. My biggest gripe is just the eyes and teeth and if those weren’t so messed up I wouldn’t have such a big problem. On the good side the joints move smoothly and I love the sculpt of the figure. The paint on the dorsal plates are also pretty good although it was sloppy on some of the ones farther down the tail, but that’s not too important. Would I recommend buying this? Well for $95, no accessories, and some major paint flaws (for me at least) i wouldn’t exactly say no because this figure is still pretty good overall and if you want to buy a BioGoji figure in specific I’d say buy this figure, but if you just want any Godzilla and don’t care which type I’d say you can probably find something that gets you more bang for you buck. Again honestly if it wasn’t for the mess up on the face I’d be completely happy and my displeasure with the paint mess uphas caused me to be extra critical so don’t take my word for it exactly, but buy at your own risk. Tamashii if you see this: sending me a replacement head would be quite kind and generous and I’d really appreciate that so then I can fully enjoy this figure.

Long awaited SH figure to own.
The figure arrived safely as the delivery man delivered it to my hands. It was in great condition, joints and all were adjustable with no issues. Slightly smaller compared to the other figure that lights up and made sounds, but was accurate in size to compare with the Biollante Figure in comparison in the film. A figure that was worth to add to my collection. I do hope that the 1984/1985 incarnation will someday make it's debut into SH Monster Art. It was worth to pre-order.

Awesome Godzilla figure!
Absolutely love it! Finally a appropriate 1989 Godzilla that will fit into the 6 inch Monsterarts line. Can't speak for everyone but I definitely love my figure. Definitely recommend for any Godzilla fans and collectors alike!

Falls apart
My son saved up money to buy himself this Godzilla figure. He is an absolute diehard Godzilla fan. When we finally received it he was over the moon excited. The thing constantly falls apart. The lower jaw barely stays attached, the tail joints do not stay together. It's a collection figure, so it's not getting played with, he cant wven pick it up or it falls apart. He's heartbroken, and I'm very angry. By the time we realized this was a huge issue we weren't able to return or get a refund. As cool as it looks, don't you dare touch it or even breath next to it.
