Transformers: The IDW Collection Volume 2

As I stated in my review for the first collection, I'm a hugely biased transformers fan, so tale from that what you will. All that aside, this is an absolutely brilliant follow up. The two following mainline stories absolutely ramp up the action, while featuring the first Optimus vs Megatron battle. Absolutely brilliant. On top of that, the standalone stories known as 'spotlights' were absolutely brilliant. The Kup one far exceeded my expectations, taking an interesting direction I never thought they would take it. Then it ended with Optimus himself, offering a little insight to the question of how he deals with the pressure of being leader of the autobots. Overall, this was a fantastic collection, throughly earning it's 5/5 rating. If you're a transformers fan, you simply have to buy these!

This Volume of IDW's re-presentation of Generation 1 Transformers carries on in almost random order (Volumes 1-4 aren't in release or chronological order, instead in the 'best running order' according to the IDW writers) but still maintains the quality and dark themes of Volume 1. It begins with past and present story of Stormbringer, the Escalation storyline continuing where 'Infiltration' left off again written by Simon Furman and inbetween these two many stories are many of the brilliant 'Spotlight' one off's (which are all more or less linked together and will become apparent in volume 4). The artwork is great and of very high standard and the stories and the scripting is equally impressive, a real page turner. As for the reading order I am unsure if its very carefully and well thought out, randomly put together or confusing, either way it works in a very Pulp Fiction sort of way. Highly reccommended to TF comic fans.

great book i have always loved Transformers an this is a nice collection up till 2, number 3 is goining to cost anything from £60 notes which seems to be the way with these collections always one or two are priced so high an as well it states that there are eighty something pages less so be warned about that unless you can find a cheaper version here somewhere if you look :{

Just amazing. Book quality, paper, details - 10/10. I'm transformer fan for many years and I really enjoy all stories from Transformers universum.
