I got this for my 7 yr old soccer loving girl. She has been playing soccer for 4 years and I must say is naturally good. I got her this book not just get her to read about a professional female soccer girl but to inspire her. I wanted to show her look at this successful female butt kicker, you can be like her as well with dedication and lots of practicing, if you want. Lots of fun facts about Alex Morgan and my daughter really enjoyed reading about her.

I became a fan of Alex Morgan almost instantly when she exploded on the scene as the new forward for the Women's National Team. She was must see TV right from the start and I have followed her ever since. I have been hoping to get my nieces into soccer and hopefully reading about one of the game's best players may inspire them. The book is filled with big and bight pictures of the soccer player. The book follows Alex from a child growing up in California, to college, to club team, to World Cup and Olympic champion (though it does stop with that 2019 World Cup and does not cover her recent pregnancy; this is the second edition so maybe there will be a third). The eldest niece just started to read and some of the written parts of the book may be too tough for her. But I am sure her uncle will be more than willing help read the tougher passages to her.
