Great little night light with outlet!
We built a new home and wanted stairway lighting. But I hate seeing those metal grille lights with the dim nightlight bulbs behind the grill. So little light, such a pain to change, and the metal grille always looks dirty and dusty. The electrician told me about the Leviton 6527 night light (just a 3-LED light, without the outlet) and I ordered them from Amazon and wired one up to try it out. We used those units on all of our flights of stairs and they work beautifully. At the same time, I found these units. We've often wished we had an outlet on a stairway landing, to plug in a vacuum or maybe put some Christmas lights up along the railing. Our new home has two stairways with landings, so I also ordered several of these, to provide light on the landings along with an electrical outlet on each one. They work beautifully, just like the 6527's. I'd absolutely order these all over again - very happy we used them for night lighting!

Good Option for Dark Hallways
Good way to light a dark hallway or stairs. I wish it was a tad brighter, but it’s acceptable. Some reviewers don’t seem to know how to wire this type of receptacle when it’s in the middle of a circuit (more than one wire per terminal) with only one screw on each side. I’ve included three pictures showing how you should strip the wires, and then insert them behind the clamp plate under each screw. The instructions refer to this as “Back Wire”. It’s actually better than the old push-in connections. That’s the way you do it!

Great price
I can honestly say that I’ve looked everywhere for an outlet similar to this one and everywhere else I looked. It was pricey. I had my doubts when I purchased those here on Amazon but honestly I did the job easy to install and the price is great it does not look cheap at all highly recommend it.

Night light works ok
Not as bright as I would like but it does a good job as a night light in the hallway.

Good quality.
This lighted receptacle is used to light a dark staircase. Just enough light to see ware you are walking.

Great nightlight
Installed this in the hallway for a guide light for children. It’s perfect. Looks great. Plenty bright (other reviews are whack - it’s a nightlight not a security light, people!). It’s also not so bright that it’s distracting when trying to sleep. I’d recommend it

Great hallway night light
This is a great night light for a hallway or bedroom. It has two screw down terminals on the sides and one ground. I didn't see any push in terminals. This is easily handled by using pigtails and wire nuts in the box (if you have a lot of white and back connections to your existing circuit. This cannot be wired if you have an outlet where half is always on and half is switched. The nightlight gets power from the outlet, so it always needs to be live. The light itself is not very impressive if there is existing light, but it is sufficient to light the way in a pitch black hall. It seems to dim a bit as the ambient light increases until it shuts off completely. When there is reasonable daylight, this turns itself off. According to the specs it uses two LEDs and draws about 1w. I like it a lot.

Reputable name, UL listed, works as described, BUT...
Leviton makes decent electrical hardware. The construction of this outlet is sound. The design has me scratching my head a little. The first problem that I'm certain that half of installers will run into is that there is only one electrical lug available. Outlets are usually "daisy-chained" on a circuit, so unless you happen to replacing the last outlet or the only outlet on the circuit, you will have two sets of wires coming into the outlet box. To properly install in this case, it necessitates the use of wire nuts so that the two sets of wires can be joined and a third set feeds the outlet. One would hope that whoever installed the outlet box didn't cheap out and installed the deep ones, else you will have a bit of a struggle getting this all pushed back into the box.The second issue that I noticed is that the ground terminal is on the same side as the hot connection (take a close look at the representative photo and you will see what I mean). Not a true problem, but best practice would have this designed on the neutral side of the outlet (like most standard outlets). The ground wire usually being bare copper can potentially fold up and make contact with the hot if care isn't taken when seating the outlet. The installer will likely discover this has occurred upon re-energizing the circuit (it would create a short circuit condition). A neutral to ground fault would be less severe of a condition. One side note that isn't of any reflection of the product itself: This is not a GFCI outlet. Given that the bathroom would be a typical application for a night light, be sure that the outlet is protected by a GFCI somewhere upstream of the outlet. This can be either another outlet with GFCI protection that extends protection downstream to this outlet, or a GFCI circuit breaker. Do not use this outlet to replace a GFCI outlet unless you are also installing an alternate means of GFCI protection. All else aside, it does what one would expect and unclutters the wall from the typical plug-in night light. Be sure to order the correct wall plate as an accessory. This outlet uses the large, rectangular opening wall plate, as opposed to the standard two hole outlet wall plate.

Veilleuse intéressante
Prise de courant avec lampe veilleuse intégrée. Prends moins de place qu’une lampe branchable mais limite le dispositif à une prise. Le dispositif TR est pratique pour la sécurité des enfants.

Sleek and compact solution, light could be brighter.
Love the look and clean solution of night light without something plugged into a socket. Works for me in a small bathroom but really should be brighter for hallway or other use.

Great night light
Provides the perfect amount of light for a hallway at night. It isn't bright but its just perfect for at night time when your eyes have adjusted to the darkness.
