This shaker is perfect for my husband's secret meat rub! The top holes are just the perfect size to let the spices flow smooth and evenly over the meat. The little plastic cap is easy to put on and off; the top screws off and on easily but stays on snuggly; and the entire dredge cleans easily too.

Perfect for keeping baking soda under my kitchen sink, which I use often to scrub dishes while washing. I appreciate that it has a cover.

The holes are not fine. Too much salt comes out. It would work well for powdered sugar though. It is made well. It has a plastic snap-on top to keep moisture out of the container. I have not had it long enough to test that. Under the plastic top is a metal screw on top. It is easy to take the top off without unscrewing the lid. I am not sure why some people mentioned that.

I had another one that looked just like this but it was not stainless steel. It rusted and I could not get the lid off to put more salt in it. That one was junk but this one is stainless and is well made. It was a good price. The holes are appropriately sized for popcorn salt which is what I use it for and it even came with a plastic cover so if it’s knocked over it won’t spill.

We like and often used crushed red pepper. Crushed red pepper in dispensers is available in supermarkets, but the holes on the lids of the shakers are relatively small, and we like the crushed red pepper available at Penzeys Spices, which is packaged in bags. Notwithstanding the fact that crushed red pepper in restaurants is contained in unenclosed containers, crushed red pepper better maintains its flavor in an enclosed container. This item fits the bill at a great price.

This shaker/dredge is well designed and made in terms of basic function, with two added features likely intended for homeowner use. First is the choice of polished stainless for its basic material so it will be more attractive on a homeowner's counter. Second is the addition of a snugly fitting cover to help protect the shaker's contents between somewhat infrequent uses, Neither of these additions are any use in a restaurant kitchen where counter appearance is not an issue, and where the shaker is likely used many times a day.

Love this thing! I make a lot of sauces and this is a life saver.

It works fine...but when your use to the store bought shakers the top a bit large and shakes over the item your shaking the flour into. But all changes take time to get use to
