Q: does the adhesive work well on textured walls?

It’s a reasonably good adhesive for flat smooth surfaces, but does lose some ability to adhere with changes in humidity inside a house. We just glued it up when it began to come loose. It still works well. Where there was irregularity innthe surface of the window casing or wall, it did not adhere as well. So my answer to that question would have to be no.

Q: how does the cordless lift mechanism work?

The cordless lift mechanism is hidden within the rail of the shade, and it is able to hold the position when lifting or lowering the shade, almost like a pulley system. The same thing happened to me. You have to trim evenly from both sides to keep the string that holds it together in tact.

Q: They are pictured on the inside of the window. Can they be installed on the outside frame?
