More All-Of-A-Kind Family Paperback – June 10, 2014

I read these books when I was a kid, read them to my daughter when she was little and am now reading them to my granddaughter. These books are a sweet story about a family from a hundred years ago and they are very engaging and bring back good memories for me.

The item was as described. This item had a much longer than usual delivery time.

The entire series is a very sweet set of children's stories that appeal to this adult for their simple charm, but particularly for the time and place. I was fascninated by the setting in the Jewish lower east of Manhattan and the aspects of every day life in a poor, peri- world war I community.

My kids love these stories - they see them as the Jewish "Little House on the Prairie". Perfect for young boys and girls.

This series is excellent, especially if you are jewish. My 8yr old daughter and I are reading this series because she wanted a book that shared our values. We are both LOVING IT! The series is about a jewish family around the 1920's living on the lower east side. It really is a great conversation starter about jewish history and all the holidays. She is really identifying with the daughters in the book. I would absolutely recommend these books! They will also be great books to pass on and share with other generations.

I grew up reading these sweet stories, and was thrilled to share them with my own children. I have been collecting the out-of-print books, and just need "Downtown" to complete our set. These cds are charming and great bedtime listening. A lot of what I remember of Jewish holidays comes from these books.So glad to find the cds!

I JUST ORDERED THE ALL OF A KIND FAMILY UPTOWN BOOK THREE I WILL FOLLOW THAT WITH BOOKS FOUR AND FIVE THEY ARE REAL FAMILY CLASSICS. AND I LOVE THEM. YOU WILL TOO BUY BUY ALL OF THEM AND READ THEM YOU WILL LOVE THEM LIKE I DO.

My 5th grade daughter has just fallen in love with all the characters from this series and begs for the next one as soon as she's finished. Too bad there aren't more books than the four. Great series that offers historical, cultural and social insight into the era and Jewish life.
