Vehicular combat returns from the dead...... Is it to late to the party? 7.5/10
Carmageddon returns to home consolesMax Damage is a over the top love letter to the originalI see this game being this generations BMX XXXIt's a over the top game not to be taken seriouslyWith patches and DLC i hope the developers don't censor some of the contentFun Factor: The game is fun it's a strange mix of South Park blended with Saints RowIt's also not politically correctYou can run down disabled people, old people, fat peopleThe violence is cranked up to 11If you miss the days of Twisted Metal this is the closest thing you'll getControls: D- The biggest problem with this game is the controlsThe controls mirror a racing sim not a arcade racerThe vehicles handle very jerky this should not be the case in a game like thisAt times you'll think you'll driving on ice there's a lot of sliding and it's easy to lose controlThis is not Gran Turismo or Forza it's a over the top Saints Row type gameThe control layout is also really outdated if you want to use a weapon you have to jump through all sorts of hops to do itThe more i think about it i think the game was never built around a gaming consoleIt might have been built around a keyboard and mouse?Graphics are average this is more a less a Double A/Budget titleIt has a more cartoony/Saints Row look to it which actually worksThere is a oddball charm to it's overall presentationMusic/Score the licenses music is God awful But, all the sound f/x and the score do fit into this world perfectlyNot for children: This is a Mature game the content is very adultI'm a little shocked they got away with so much But, I'm glad they went all inYou can't water a game like this downNot sure who this game is really aimed at sim racing fans are not gonna dig the tone and overall appearanceand arcade racing fans will love the sense of humor and fun factor but, hate the controlsIt's really hard to recommend this game mostly due to the gimped controlsEven if you have Amazon Prime and can get the discount you might want to wait if you are on the fenceuntil it hits the proper SRP of $25.00 or lessHopefully the developers put out a arcade patch or somethingI put a good 3hrs into it over the weekendwas it a disappointment no but, it could've been so much better if the developers made this for casual fans and made the game easy to pick up and play at the moment it's not a easy game to pick up and play 7.5/10

What A Major Disappointment
I like Carmageddon, I really do. It's an old and violent racing series with awkward controls for its time, but you got used to it. Sometimes though, getting more of the same is a pretty bad thing. Though it's been a while since I've played any of the original titles, I can still see a lot of resemblances between this and its predecessors. After throwing several hours into this game, I'm still unable to get used to the driving. As an avid racing game fan, to everything from AG racers to racing simulators, these vehicles are incredibly difficult to get used to. If you've ever driven a Nascar in a racing simulator, it's like that but worse. That topped with the stupidly awful AI makes this more of a frustrating experience than anything. A simple tap from the AI throws you off entirely, right before you get piled onto by the other drivers. The AI really breaks the experience. The weapons are very all over the place in terms of how they're used. Some of them are downright hilarious and an absolute joy to use while others work in weird and confusing ways, especially when you're actually racing. Having variety in any game is always a welcomed thing but the weapon pickups really needed refining. The destruction and the amount of things you can kill is pretty awesome. Whether you're sucking up civilians or running into cows, this is probably the best game out there when it comes to vehicular pedestrian murder. Though the Twisted Metal games are far better than almost anything Max Damage has to offer, Max Damage comes out on top with destruction and killing by a long shot.Visually the game looks alright, it's capped at 720P 30FPS on Xbox One which seems like kind of a disappointment but given how much stuff is going on at once, it's understandable.Completing an event is often times confusing, as weird as that sounds. There's weird level design that's straight outta 1997. Given how almost all of the maps are very much trial and error, you may find yourself frustrated until you actually learn each level proficiently. Some events will give you multiple ways in completing them. Sounds cool, right? You can kill everyone, beat the race by smashing cows and people for additional time, kill x amount of things to ultimately complete your goal... Sounds kinda confusing, right? That's because it is.If you're looking to get into the Carmageddon series with Max Damage, you're gonna initially have a very hard time with this title. To those of who are looking for more of the same, you're gonna feel at home with Max Damage and you're gonna be thankful gameplay has changed so much from 20 years ago. Its charm is ultimately shattered with terrible controls and excitement that turns dull after you've experienced everything it basically has to offer. This isn't a game I recommend if you're looking for something fun, rather it is interesting in its own ways and may be worth the price if you wanna fulfill your curiosity. This is the most 90s felling newer game you're gonna find on Xbox One.

Gobs of bloody fun
Since this is actually the first Carmaggedon game I've ever played, I can't really compare and contrast it with anything else.I had a lot of fun with the career mode (didn't play any online matches). The varied courses/ environments are sprawling and highly explorable. The different modes and themes kept the game interesting and fresh. The power-ups (pups) throw in some additional random wackiness to the mix by providing more creative ways to obliterate the brain-dead peds and your opponents while providing some much needed real-time vehicle repair and enhancements. There's a lot of cars to acquire, but the vehicle customization options are very rudimentary. The cartoonish graphics are fine for what the game is, but I wish the effects were a little more detailed and diverse. I'ved used the slow-mo playback feature to watch car explosions and ped deaths frame by frame, and the effects seem to be pretty redundant. The controls take some getting used to. I play a lot of racing games, and CMD probably has one of the most erratic handling and driving difficulty I've come across. You go from molasses-like acceleration to out-of-control, floaty steering. Your regular brakes are pretty much useless at high speeds, and the emergency brakes often cause you to spin out, if you haven't already flown off the track or slammed into a wall. I eventually got to the point where I could make the turns somewhat efficiently by balancing my use of regular and emergency brakes, letting off the gas, and controlled thumbstick movement; but man, what a learning curve.Despite the whacked steering control, fans of Twisted Metal and battle racing games in general should check it out.

Clásico Carma!!! De nueva generación.
Un título de nueva generación, conservando lo clásico de Carmageddon. Excelente título. Muy recomendable para los que jugaron el primer titulo en MS Dos.
