Q: Will this hold/grab a very thin tapestry?

Yes, they can grab a very thin tapestry. I would also recommend you to put pieces of fabric between your thin tapestry and wood to prevent any damage.

Q: What size drill bit do I need for the wall anchors?

I don’t recall the size of bit I used but I just compared the size of the insert with the bit

Q: How do I remove when I leave my apartment?

The screws provided go into the wall. The knobs have their own threads to tighten the clamps down.

Q: How hard would these be to hang on a paneled wall? Not sure I can screw them into the paneling. Need to hang it on a church classroom wall.

I screwed mine into Sheetrock wall in my bedroom and hung a quilt with them. They’re still holding up with no problem. It’s been over a year now.
