saved me at least $45 or as much as $1500
I bought my frigidaire french door fridge used and had problems with the refriferator being a biit too warm. 45-50F. After much troubleshooting, cursing, bleeding, and breaking stuff, I found that the condensor coils were not defrosting. After finding the defrost elements had continuity, I decided the most likely culprit was the thermistor or the control board. Parts supplier wanted $65-$70 for this little piece of metal. I got it, attached it, and it worked like a charm! That first hiss of the unit defrosting was music to my ears. Fridge and freezer temps are now stable and within normal operating perameters. Three different times I was ready to chuck this fridge into the yard and buy a new one. If snyone had been able to ship one to me in less than two weeks, this probably would have gone a much more expensive route. Well done!

Simple to install
The most difficult part of replacing this part is just getting to it. The installation is easy and quick. I had no issues getting it to fit or connect.

It worked
Freezer was working but had to keep defrosting to get refrigerator cold. This part fixed it. The auto defrost works now perfectly

Not True OEM Part
The defrost thermostat was delivered in a relabeled bag - clearly not a true OEM item. It did fit correctly, but did not function. The device is supposed to turn on when below freezing, which it would do, but it would immediately turn off, preventing the defrost cycle from running.

Not OEM.
Not OEM as described. This came in a plain clear bag with no labels like OEM parts have.

Was the exact part I needed to fix my fridge
I have a Frigidaire french door refrigerator that started getting warm. After poking around a little I discovered that the evaporator coils were solid ice, and when I put the fridge into the diagnostic mode and manually turned on the defrost, it never came on. After thawing it out, it was clear that the old thermostat had failed.I paid a little more to get this part here at Amazon than other places, but that was in exchange for fast shipping. The part was very easy to install and I was back up and running within a few min of getting the new part. This should be obvious, but you can't actually test the thermostat unless it is cold, so I waited several hours until the freezer was cold before trying to manually turn on the defroster in the diagnostic mode again. Once I did, the defrost immediately got hot. All fixed!

Should have bought this one first!
Was getting tons of Ice buildup in my freezer. Thought it was either this or the Fan. Didn't hear the fan spinning so thought it was the fan. New fan didn't solve it. Tore it back down, swapped this little guy out, now works perfectly. The fans are super quiet and hard to get them to work once removed from fridge so do this one first? And ofc it's a possibility that both the fan and this thermostat were bad on my freezer.
