Very handy for bigger hedges
Tried out the Swift 40V Cordless Long Reach Hedge Trimmer last weekend and, honestly, it’s not bad at all. It handled the jungle at the end of my garden like a champ. It’s got a 46cm double-sided dual-action blade, ideal for those taller hedges you can’t quite reach without wobbling on a ladder. The head adjusts from 80° to 205°, which is genuinely handy for shaping the tops or working around corners. The 40V 2.0Ah battery lasted just under 40 minutes, which was enough for a decent session. Now for the trade-offs. It’s on the heavy side. My arms started to feel the burn after half an hour, even with the shoulder strap and soft grips trying their best to help. Also, the strap could do with being a bit longer. I’m not exactly giant-sized, so not sure how others would manage. For £139.99, I’d say it’s good value if you’ve got some serious shrubbery to deal with. It’s well built, cuts cleanly, and gets the job done without any faff. Just be ready for a bit of a workout while you’re at it. Definitely earns a spot in the garden shed.

What can I say: it trims
I’ve used this item twice and feel it’s a decent piece of kit that does what i need.I dispute that it cuts branches as thick as it says it does (I find I have to get in a fight with it to get through some of the thicker ones, which is a pain but I suppose it’s a trimmer more a chainsaw).I find it easy to manoeuvre through hedges and ivy.As others say, it is heavy, but this is normal for a low cost tool wielded by the average Jo.The rotation is really good and I find the battery lasts ages. Easy to clean, does well in the garage once oiled up.Decent for the price.

Excellent product.
I already have swifts hedge cutter and strimmer, and have been really pleased with them both, so as my hedges are getting a bit tall for me to reach, I thought I'd try this hedge trimmer. And I wasn't disappointed. it comes in bits, but is quickly assembled in minutes. It comes complete with the battery and charger and a shoulder strap, the strap is a bit short for me, even at full length, but at six feet four and eighteen stone perhaps I'm being a bit picky. It works very well, but it's a bit heavy on the arms after half an hour's work or so. The battery lasts about forty minutes or so, but it's recharged in about an hour, so I recommend buying a spare battery if you have a lot of hedge to cut. Please remember, this is a hedge cutter, not a chain saw, treat it as such and you won't be disappointed. Definitely recommended.

Cuts upto 22mm width branches
Cuts upto 22mm width branches, and has an excellent battery life. This is the second Swift hedge cutter I own, and they're both excellent.

It’s not made in china
Seems well made , the on and off switch looks a bit flimsy though , cuts well but it’s rather heavy which some may struggle with . Used a couple of times now thought it was going to be a bit longer but I should have checked, hopefully it will last

Substantial
This is a bit of a beast, not as lightweight as I was expecting, a much more substantial hedge trimmer than I was expecting, does the job well, a powerful battery gives you plenty of cutting time, easy to use, you just know you have been using it after....

Not up to the job.
Cut well for a couple hours then Died and battery 50 percent, recharge to 100 still Dead.

Avoid
Flimsy product. Power cutting out every few seconds. Was told by customer service to put a piece of cardboard in it to make it work. It didn’t help plus why would I want to jam a bit of cardboard into something that is brand new? Customer service now saying to return the product unused but how the hell would I know it wasn’t working properly unless I used it? Also asking for a video of me using the cutter for their qc team but how on earth am I meant to safely use a cutter and record on my phone at the same time? Avoid dealing with this company.
