Dive Mount - Mask Strap Action Camera Mount

Works good for me, not too bulky on the mask and gives a good eye level view when diving

It gets the job done & allows me to buy whatever mask I want.

I ordered this primarily to let me document dives hand-free without worrying about handling a camera during the dive. I have since taken it on two dives and am very satisfied with how it has performed. I was concerned that it might not fit on the right side using the GoPro Protective Housing (Hero 9, 10, 11, 12), as the product description clearly states that it only fits on the right side viewed from your front (or your left side from your perspective). This would mean it would have to go on my left, where I usually have my snorkel. However, I was pleasantly pleased to discover that it actually fits on either side. With the housing mounted on the right side, there is no access to the side button, but because the GoPro starts recording on power-on, there isn't much need for it. The fit is close, but it isn't actually pushing against the side of the housing, so I'm not concerned about it slowly wearing out due to torquing the mount. The video quality is decent. With the large support, it does not move around much, and the GoPro's built-in stabilization maintains a very stable shot. Because it threads through the mask strap twice, I am not worried at all about it coming loose during a dive. An impact anywhere near hard enough to knock it loose is going to take my whole mask off anyway. So far, I've only worn it over a 7mm hood, but it is quite comfortable. You'll probably forget it is there, which, in my opinion, is half the reason to get this style of mount. I will definitely continue to use this for the foreseeable future.

I purchased this as a way to better focus the GoPro on what I was looking at. I am aware of the other reviews that mentioned part of the mask in the shot. This is true! I have used it on a couple of dive and the stability is pretty great underwater. I have not yet tried to place it on the opposite side but intend to do so. That should eliminate the mask in the corner problem. Once that is fixed, no complaints here. It does feel a little awkward out of the water, but hardly noticed it in the water.
