I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the development of the "liberal arts tradition" from its origin to the present time. This is a tremendous resource document. It should read and studied by anyone seriously interested in the "liberal arts." It complements Father Roche's book "Why Choose the Liberal Arts?" Professor Kimball has done us a great service by developing and writing this resource document.
