Works well as a ethernet/dp/charger for 2020 MacBook Pro M1
I bought this to replace a different docking station that required software for the Display Port to work and couldn't run the DP and ethernet at the same time. Big disappointment. I saw this product which seemed to do all the things I wanted in a dock so I figured to give it a try and boy was I surprised. First, the DP just worked. No need for any software. Second, the ethernet just worked (well, as good as Big Sur would let it). I now run ethernet + wifi successfully. So, for a great price, I now have exactly what I wanted. But there's more... The connector from the station connects to 2 of the usb-c ports on the MacBook. I'm convinced this allows significantly more operations to be carried out through the station un-deferred by other operations all fighting for that 5g (I think) power line. Another real good feature is the fact that this station allows you to connect to any charging brick. I ended up buying a 96 watt power charger which provides plenty of power for the ports on the station as well as charging the MacBook. In case you are wondering, I didn't need the high power charger, the 65w brick that came with the MB Pro worked fine but I wanted to ensure more available energy. Anyway, the previous dock didn't have that ability and I think that was the problem running ethernet and DP simultaneously: no power. I'm overly pleased with this dock for my MackBook. I would strongly suggest it to anyone that has similar needs for their M1 MacBook.

USB ports died
After a year 3 of the 4 USB ports on the back of hub died. I now have to connect a USB-C dongle to the hub to connect the rest of my USB devices. Don't expect a dual monitor setup to work gracefully on this hub, at least with a Macbook. After waking the laptop up from a sleep cycle I'd often have to unplug and then reconnect the hub to get monitor #2 to work.

Cute, but requires 2 USB-C ports to run peripherals + external displays
I was excited to get this gadget, and when I opened it I was surprised at how small and cute it was. Sadly, it didn't live up to expectations.I got the power hooked up, all the peripherals plugged in, one monitor (for now) connected via DP. Next, I connected my HP Elitebook to the "host 2" port via the included single USB-C cable, following the included instructions. The peripherals worked, but nothing showed up on the display. Tried an HDMI connection instead, but no luck. (My display accepts both DP and HDMI, and both inputs are tested and working.)I unplugged from the "host 2" port and plugged the Elitebook into the "host 1" port. Now the peripherals failed to work but the monitor lit up as an extended display. So... peripherals (and power) via host 2, display via host 1? Seems like it. To make this work with any computer you need to connect via *two* USB-C ports if you want to have power, peripherals and extended displays.I guess that works for a Macbook, but not for my Elitebook (note: HP made their USB-C ports 1mm further apart than Apple, probably out of spite). Sure, I could buy another cable, but this thing said it did it all via one cable. I want this dock to work for my older machines with just one USB-C port, too. :: sad face ::So, it's going back and I need to find something else. I have a rock solid Targus at work, but it's twice the price of this guy.

some points to notice before you buy
One thing is that I had tried to use my usb-c to hdmi cable connect to this dock, but it doesn't work. So, don't be misled by its marketing and naming this device as so-called "USB-C dock", just because it's powered by usb-c cable, and nothing else relates to usb-c. No.This dock works well on displaying one 4k + one 1080, but not stable for two 4k (in my case a samsung m8 and a dell p2721, my samsung m8 monitor cannot detect my laptop, not sure is the monitor's problem or this dock's problem, but from my test, it's probably the dock, since with only samsung m8 connected to it, it can run well without any issue. Once I add another 4k monitor, it starts to fail. I have a couple of days before the return window closes, and I just ordered calDigit element hub and wanna test on that one to see if the issue persists. probably will come back to update.

Don't overspend! This is everything you need from a dock and more
At first I was skeptical of how this could be undercutting the "big brand" docks by so much, offering this level of functionality, but let me tell you, you're in the right place looking at this dock. The build quality is top notch and perfectly fits in with the Space Grey Apple aesthetic. I was also surprised by how small this unit is, given the number of ports. And speaking of the ports, they are very tightly fitted and offer a very solid, snug connection. And while it wasn't a perfect plug and play with my Macbook Pro from the start (with dual monitors), one quick email to Tobenone support and they were lightning fast in helping me diagnose my problem (which was user error). Based on the customer service alone, I can't recommend this product enough.

Minimized cord clutter. Great Customer Service.
I bought this device to use with my Macbook Pro in order to minimize cord clutter and clean up my desktop. The first one I received had some connection issues. The seller actually sent a message to me through Amazon shortly after I received my order, so I contacted them directly. After trying out a few different connection configurations, I was sent another device and have had zero issues. I have 3 USB-A devices (Mic, Logitech mouse/keyboard dongle, and Camera) connected. I also have 2 monitors connected via 2 HDMI ports. They're set up in landscape mode. I'm able to have my laptop open and view 3 separate applications on the 3 screens (if desired). I mostly keep my laptop closed on a stand.

Didn't Last A Year
I bought this in the end of July 2021. It no longer works. It stopped working about 2.5 months ago I have tried rearranging how things are plugged in, I changed our extension cords, and tried plugging it into the wall. None of that work. For something I paid over $100 on it should last more than a year. Not worth the money. DON'T BUY THIS.

Mostly happy
Works best out of all Mac adapters I tried, but only issue is if we connect power cable to it, the hdmi output will start flickering, It works fine as long as I connect power adapter directly to my Mac instead of connecting to this adapter.
