**get the newest version with HDMI 2.0 support** -- flawless for low latency PC gaming on a TV!
*disclaimer!* -- get the newer version with HDMI 2.0 support! leaving a review on this one too because it was great as well, but i'm copying my review from the newer one here: pricier than the alternatives, but you get what you pay for -- fantastic KVM that is much more stable and well-built compared to previous cheaper ones that i have tried. i chose this one because the previous one i tried had very limited USB support -- the drivers for the USB ports were for mice and keyboards // HID devices *only*, so no USB bluetooth dongle support like i needed -- and this one doesn't have that issue. i don't have hard numbers or measurements, but the latency is basically imperceptible for gaming. i played through jedi survivor and just finished bloodborne at 1080p + 120hz on my samsung QN90D TV, and it has worked flawlessly. so i really have no complaints at all, this is absolutely worth the money! i would recommend it to anyone who wants to use their computer for PC gaming on a TV in a separate room like i did minor things to watch out for (but which are not issues with the KVM itself!) -- *make sure to get the newer version with HDMI 2.0 support*, and use HDMI 2.0+ cables if you want to use higher refresh rates (120hz) or resolutions (4k, although i typically use 1080p). HDR support is kind of finicky on my GPU + TV combination, but i don't think it has anything to do with the KVM. if they release an updated version with HDMI 2.1 support, i will almost certainly upgrade to it this is a fantastic KVM that has worked perfectly for my needs, and i've had no issues with it at all. highly recommend it!

This is the extender I am looking for
I got a cheap extender from China, they claimed to support 4K and USB extension with zero latency. But actually, the picture is compressed, laggy and I can barely see texts on the screen clearly. USB extension also buggy because I do not support USB camera and my trackball on Linux. This one, however, solved all problems. The picture is clear, no preception lag, trackball works and I can have video conferencing with the USB camera in my room. I should go straight to this one instead of waiting for one month to get the inferior one. A must-have item when you have a large heavy and noisy workstation in your home downstairs and want to work in the bedroom upstairs.

Good Product and Price
I use this extender to display my PC in a separate room via a 75' cat6 cable. It displays 1080p at 60hz with 5.1 surround sound audio with no discernible lag, and the picture quality is the same as when I have the PC plugged directly into the TV without an extender. It's really nice to have the 4 USB ports in the other room too, however I did have a small issue with them. When plugging an Xbox 360 wireless controller receiver into one of the USB ports, Windows 10 could no longer recognize devices plugged into any of the other 3 ports. Research and experimentation tell me this is because the wireless receiver requires quite a lot of power. If I unplug it then all 4 USB ports work fine. This is kind of a specific use case so I don't mind it too much. Around 1.5 months after I purchased this extender, it stopped working. I contacted AV Access via their website to get a replacement as it has a 3 year warranty, and they did send me one for free with shipping for my broken unit and replacement both covered. It took around 2.5 weeks total from when it broke to when I received the replacement, which was pretty inconvenient but otherwise customer support was quick and I am happy (assuming this one doesn't break too). Update: 6 years later and the replacement unit still works fine.

Buggy power, poor but working video, excellent USB
It works, but not well. Mine only works when the transmitter has power. When the receiver had power and the ethernet cable was connected between them (this should have powered both devices), the transmitter did not power up. When power was applied to the transmitting box and the ethernet cable was connected, both boxes had power. This slowed us down trying to figure out why nothing worked. Aside from that, the device does work. The instructions that come with the device are not detailed. Video quality - very poor. I am using the box to type this so it is possible to use it, but the color quality is poor. There are color splotches where they don't belong. For very basic work like powerpoint with long cable runs, a person might not care. For my purposes (photography, art), it doesn't work well enough. USB - excellent The USB port is the only thing I will wind up using on this device. USB extenders are generally $130 on up, so the additional $100 this box costs is a waste but I may just keep it rather than shipping things back and forth to get a basic USB extender over ethernet.

Great for gaming, no latency with 4K@60 and USB controllers
We have a pretty beefy gaming desktop that is unsightly and loud under load. It also doubles as a space heater. :) We normally keep it in the basement but sometimes we want to play in the living room on our 4K tv. Lugging the desktop up and down was a pain, plus we have a ups for it in the basement to protect it from power glitches. So I hesitantly got this figuring their would be video/audio latency or USB input latency. Much to my surprise it works great, no latency, with 4K@60fps and surround audio transmitted. We also have a USB based force feedback steering wheel for racing games which works awesome and we can plug in our Xbox USB wireless controller adapter and use those controllers in the living room. Very pleased with this device so far. I'm using a flat cat6 100' Ethernet cable to connect the two ends.

Amazing product. I can send a 4K 60hz signal from my gaming computer 50ft away to my Sony 4K TV perfectly. There is no input or streaming lag, the USB 2.0 extension lets me connect a 2.4ghz gaming controller and a separate mini keyboard/mouse. The HDMI also passes all audio formats perfectly, I've tested compressed and uncompressed Atmos+TrueHD and no issues at all with any surround format. Yes it is pricey compared to cheaper ones, but I've tried a no-name and OREI and the picture quality of this AV Access extender is like I've got my computer directly plugged into my TV. The others the compression is very noticeable and text is pixelated. Also, the other extenders with USB it may only pass keyboard and mouse signals whereas this one has no problem with webcams or controllers. Also good service, my extender came with a faulty USB cable and they refunded me a small amount to buy a new one.

Unit has been used to watch maybe 30 movies in the past year. Today it quit on me. PoE is not working, can plug in either transmitter or receiver in with 18v and they turn on fine, but will not power other unit over PoE. Have changed out cat6 multiple times. What a waste of $270 at the time, I see the price has gone way up. Not worth it at all.
