An absolute dream of a journal. Perfect!
I have become an avid journaler after years of starts and stops. Now I can't even imagine a day where I fail to journal. When I realized that the 600 page journal I've been using was running out of pages, I immediately went to Amazon to purchase a new one. Not an easy prospect, I found out; there are hundreds of them to choose from. I spent hours browsing, but still could not find the one for me until I accidentally hit on this one. There was something about it that called out to me and I pressed the 'order' button. I'm so glad I did. While I know that choosing the right journal is an entirely individual decision, I can tell you that for me, at least, this C.R. Gibson Jumbo Journal is exactly what I was searching for. My first impression of it was the extraordinary design and craftsmanship that went into its creation. It's sturdy and classy with rounded, thick bleach white paper with excellent binding that will last without cracking. The pages lie perfectly flat and there's a thick. sumptuous ribbon to hold your place. For me, this is everything a journal should be. There are no frills, no pocket at the back (although you could create one); just a beautifully made book to chronicle your life. Are there cons to these pros? Of course. If you're someone who wants to take your journal everywhere you go, you should be warned that this is a big journal with 400 pages and a large format. It is not something that fits in a purse; it's a hefty package. You might want to store it in your backpack, but I feel this is a journal you go to first thing in the morning and return to at night. It's not really portable. But that is my only caveat. This is a truly beautiful product, expertly made. Also, the pages show no bleed through, no matter what kind of ink you use (aside from Sharpie, but we all know that.) I use fountain pens, many with a broad nib; no bleeding through at all. So, in conclusion, I highly recommend this for the serious journaler. It's worth every penny. Happy journaling!

Great lined journal, excellent for bullet journaling
The first time I got a C R Gibson journal, it was from a friend that "wanted me to be able to express myself" since I have a hard time talking about things. It got put aside for years, until I got into bullet journaling. I whipped that thing out and realized they are great journals. I used up that one and have recently moved to this one. I really like it, while it is not a dot grid, it has smaller college rule lines. Looking at about 29 lines per page. It is rather thick, so not good for someone that takes their journal with them, but I am hoping that it will last longer. The pages are thick enough that I can use brush pens without them shadowing through too much to the other side (less than ballpoint pen, since i have a heavy hand), but certain calligraphy pens and sharpies did seep through the page. It has one silk bookmark, which comes in handy. The journal stayed in tack through daily use for about a year, and is still in one piece. On this one I really like the cover, it looks really classy, especially with the indents on the spine. I will definitely keep purchasing C R Gibson journals.

Excellent capacious journal for lots of writing
This journal is well-made. Lots of white pages (400), and the paper holds up to fountain pen ink. The lines on the pages are wider apart than college rule, but not so wide as wide rule. (I actually like the spacing very much; Moleskine lines a little narrower than I like.) This journal is larger and thicker than some/most, but it is securely bound and will look nice on the shelf. I love the slightly cushioned feel of the cover. Will buy again!

Looks good, lots of pages, recommended overall, but cover is easily damaged or marked
This thick journal will be good if you like larger page counts per journal. The back is ribbed so I don't really like that, but that's just my preference and it was a trade off for the number of pages. The cover is soft material with a puffy feel to it and the black color shows off fingerprints quite well. Wash your hands before handling the journal and don't scrape the cover on anything or the material will get scratches. I like the number of pages and the interior of the journal much better than the cover. If the cover were more robust, I would rate it as 5 stars and I like the CR Gibson company and other journals in their collections.

I really like this journal
When I first opened the box I thought omg this is big. However, I like to write in my journal every day, and the journal I am using this year (not a C.R.) journal just ran out of pages. So, I wanted a journal with at least 365 pages, and this one is perfect. It appears to be well made and has quality paper. Perfect for my use. I really like this journal so far, and look forward to a long and happy relationship.

A quality journal
The paper is nice and thick, and it has great aesthetic appeal. I thought it would hard on the outside, but it's cushioned and has gotten a bit marked up from my backpack. Still give it 5 of 5.

DO NOT PURCHASE!
DO NOT PURCHASE. After a couple of days pages fell out. I will not invest in writing in a journal if I think it might fall apart, kind of defeats the purpose of a journal.

I received a ripped journal...disappointed.
This was the exact journal I have been searching for weeks, and unfortunately, I received one with a ripped binding. I am disappointed.
